Yeah you have a decent idea on the early guys, but there could still be a late pick/late bloomer that takes a year or 2 to develop, those guys could turn a good draft into a great one.
Not knocking there selections, Mike. I'm not clueless. Lol. Anyway, the way I got that grade was mostly because of the people we didn't get, when we had the opportunity. This 4th round selection doesn't help my opinion either.
This 4th round selection makes sense. We need OLB's. Nobody knows if Cam Wake is any good or can be a full time starter. Charlie Anderson is nothing special.
We now throw Misi and Edds into the mix. Hopefully get some competition giong and some of these guys stick.
Misi is a pass rushign OLB. Edds is a coverage LB (dude can cover RB's and TE's). He is a 3rd down linebacker.
We have 3 DT's now (Starks/Solai/Ferguson) so thats why no Cam thomas
And it looks like they wanted a "coverage" OLB and this guy had 5 INT's as a linebacker last year. He give the Fins what they want. That's why over Sapp.
I think Culver/Clemons are going to be our saftey's. Or maybe they want Hamlin or the Rams Saftey June 1st.

Most of the guys we drafted are high motor/hard working guys. Don't forget a key member of this draft that is the most sure thing in the draft....Brandon Marshall who was basically one of two second round picks.
Draft grade so far....A....and its not over yet. I am still hoping for Jeff Owens...the monster NT from Georgia who had the bench record at the combine this year.
Pats signed Alge Crumpler this offseason, how many tight ends do they need. I don't like their draft.
Spikes is nothing special either too slow for the NFL. Belichick might be turning into the Al Davis of the NFL in front of our eyes. Making weird picks.
I disagree about Spikes. People think he's too slow. All I know is I watched every Florida game and he was a dominant presence on every play. The guy can flat out play football. He's also got prototpyical size for what we want in our LBers and I about died when the Pats took him right before us in the 3rd. The Jerry pick made me feel better though. That guy is going to be a monster on the line for us.

Spikes' problem will be something that one of our former ILB's, Zach Thomas, excelled at. RB's in the NFL are faster, quicker, than NCAA backs. The FB's are faster on the block. The outside tackle runs were the ILB has to run 20 yards to get to the point of contact will be his downfall because he simply can't get there before the RB has turned the corner. Side to side movement basically. I watched a lot of UF games as well, and I'm glad he's on the Pats team. We can run sweeps all day on them if he's playing.

Hahaha, yeah that's who Florida and Spikes played against Vanderbilt... all 12 games of the season for each of his 4 years at Florida. It's not like Spikes dominated a handful of the best teams in college football by tearing through SEC teams week in and week out. The only conference that's a step up from the SEC as far as I can tell is the NFL. Oh and ironically, Vandy is the one team he didn't play against this year because of his suspension.
Concerns about his speed are legitamite, but nonsense comments about one weak team on an otherwise very respectable football schedule somehow proving that the guy can't play in the NFL is beyond stupid.
Odenn your comment about his potential weakness at getting to backs as they turn the corner is well taken. Even with that concern, Spikes is a lot better in coverage than people give him credit for, he can stuff the run in the inside, he's big, and he's instinctive. All in all, I'm not happy that we're going to have to face him and Mayo twice a year.
