I wasn't really 'predicting' this pick, but, I did mention on here that I heard/read that the F.O. was high on this guy.

I don't see them dropping him in coverage so OLB is out. Any chance we are shifting to a hybrid D? Nolan is an innovator.

we have 4 quality DE's, and w picked up a 2nd rounder in the move.

Terrence Cody?

hughes or Kindle would seem to have been better.

Merling or langford to be traded?

2nd Toby Gerhart!

Pick up OLB's & FS in 3rd & 4th

Ricky Sapp 3-4 OLB in Rd 2

Mike Nolan may prefer the one-gap style of 3-4, like the Steelers use, and the Cowboys use, than the traditional 2-gap style. Odrick can definitely fit at NT if that is the case.

If this kid turns into Ratliff....we will win the super bowl within 3 years by taking this kid. I pray he is as good as Ratlif

I was about to post the same reply. he looks alot like Jay Ratliff did coming out of Auburn who never played NT until he got to the Cowboys.

I have had Sapp in some of my trade down scenarios but in the third.

Could be Koa Misi,Daryl Washington, even Kindle.

Kindle, Clausen, Campbell, Mays all fall to the second.

Could we drop down if Clausen or McCoy is there and a Seattle wants to move up?

Never have enough d-linemen.......so in that respect IF your gonna take an unpopular pick, might as well be a d-linemen

Parcells doesnt like big NT, He likes them tall and in the 305 pound range so im almost positive hes out NT..still dont like the pick, i would of moved down and we could of still gotten him

I'll reserve my opinion about this draft pick until they announce how he's going to be used. He's 6 foot 5, way tall for an NT, and he doesn't have that closing speed to play DE on passing downs. Guess we'll see later on what they have planned for our 1st rounder.

I think we could have got him at 40....but if they feel that strongly on him I'm not gonna doubt them. They have hit on enough d-linemen over the years to earn that respect

some were mocking him to us at 12 or cleve at 7. no way he's there in the 2d, and I think he was a value, if not a need, pick for us

Odrick was pretty consistently graded as a first rounder. Gil Brandt had him rated in his 21-30 tier of players. Mel Kiper had him going at #31.

He doesn't seem to be a particularly unpopular pick. You're the only poster I've heard express that opinion so far.

You thought we were going to break our streak of bringing in guys with checkered pasts? Remember how many people thought Vontae Davis would be a team cancer? I'm not worried about Odrick.

Pretty much Ireland saying.....if we draft Coday or Cam Thomas at 40 or someone of that nature in Rd 3, Odrick is playing outside. If we don't draft a big NT....then Ordrick is playing NT for us

Some scouts are comparing Odrick to Richard Seymoure

That's quite a statement. Hope they're right, would be nice to have a pro bowler on our D-Line.
