Pat Kirwan and Gil Brandt both like the pick. The both said he has the feet to play G or T, and Kirwan said he handled any pass rusher they sent at him during Senior Bowl week.
I watched him play some in SEC games last year. He's a pancake machine, lots of upper body strength and quick feet. I like the pick, mostly because he's 1)fast and b)can play two positions (G/T) which gives us more flexibility in injury and substitution situations. Great pick if you don't factor in other positional needs like safety.
at this point i dont care about getting a safety in this draft. i dont really like any of the ones left. i say sign a vet to a one year deal and draft an elite one next year. like mcdaniel from clemson, he is a bad dude.
I'm concerned we skipped over Wright for J. Jerry. I think either they know something we don't about the Safety position(a deal in the works?), or they're comfortable with what we have in Culver and Co. Hopefully it's not the later, and we've got a plane warming up in STL.
Who knows, maybe we have a deal with Darren Sharper that they won't tell anyone about until after the draft. There's also Robert Johnson, another Ute, that should be there in round 4, or maybe even round 5. And there's also the kid from Indiana College, Owusu-Ansah.
Hey Mike O Gerhart went to the Vikings as a running back. He will be teamed with AP, and the Vikings will play smash mouth football. So I guess I was wrong, but only by a little. Anyway the Vikings especially if Farve comes back will be a very good team.

Gerhart will be AP's fullback. Then because AP fumbles so much, Gerhart will be Mike Alstot type around the goaline and get TD's while AP watches on the sideline.
God fit for Gerhart. Nobody ever said he couldn't play....you took things way to personally.

How is saying a kid will play FB a dig?? What Fullbacks aren't football players
Coaches lie. What they say and what they do are two different things
why do we get so shocked when new england makes all those trades shouldn't we just ohhh idk... do it ourselves? you cant really say there tremendously better than we are at the moment its really not even headline worthy any more that they trade down its more like a foot note at this point.
As far as the FS situation... My thought is Miami is targeting Kam Chancellor in the 4th. He has the size the Trifecta likes in players... here is a litte info on him.
"At 6-4 and 230 pounds, Chancellor is big and strong and rarely fails to deliver the big hit. He has a decent amount of speed and has all the measurables that NFL teams will be looking for."

Saints tokk a db, and may not pay sharper what he deserves ... hope we get him as he has game left, and we could use the secondary experience / leadership.
Goo dnews is the dl and lbs will give the secondary some help next year and thus will make them better
Actually he is a bit of a tweener. He started originally as a QB, then switched to CB and settled at the FS spot in '08. A bit more info on this guy;
"Chancellor could have gone pro after his junior season, but he made the right decision returning to the Hokies. While Chancellor did a fine job in 2008 at the free safety position, he is getting noticeably more comfortable there during the 2009 campaign. Chancellor has found his home at free safety and now the NFL knows where he fits. Chancellor should be considered one of the top two or three free safeties in this class and if he keeps putting up big numbers, he has a slight chance of being a first-round selection."
