He should be. The way this team is now structured on defense, we're looking at possibly cracking back into the top half of defenses in the league within the next two years. Combine that with what's expected to be an insane running game aided by the acquisition of Marshall, we're playoff bound. Good times.

lol...The Jets needed a CB cause they can't trust Cromartie. Dude with is 7 or 8 guys sleeps with every girls he see's...LITERALLY!!! So they needed Cromartie insurance. Plus they really didn't have a nickle back.
The Pats pick was simply cause we added Marshall and the Jets added Holmes! Take that to the bank.
It was nice to see all the draft picks go up and give a BIG HUG to Roger Goodell. Shows maybe these new kids entering the league "get it" and realize they are rich beyond belief, have an opportunity of a lifetime, and don't want to be a Vick, Ricky, Big Ben....and F' it up and lose time and money during the span of their careers!!!
I'm not naive enough to think guys will never get in trouble again, but its a good sign that maybe some of these kids are starting to "get it" and open their eyes to the bigger picture of LIFE!!!

Yea I noticed that as well. I thought Gerald McCoy was going to dry hump him by the looks of it. He was crying, then he walked up to the stage and hugged Goodell like they were brothers from a different mother reunited. Then we got to listen to the ESPN crew fawn over the situation saying that "this is what it's all about". *shrug*
ESPN crew is getting ripped all over the radio this morning. NFL Network crew getting praise.
Tom Jackson and Steve Young are getting killed. NEITHER should be on that panel. Neither know what they are talking about. It's like from the last play of the Super Bowl till yesterday they were on vacation and are now looking at these guys for the first time and have no idea what they are talking about.
Berman as host. Kiper. Gruden. That's it. 3 man panel. Have a kiddie table off to the side and go to them every now and then so they can spew their nonsense and so Berman can take a piss break.
You can't have Schefter and Mort on the panel for rounds 1 and 2. They are on the phone texting and calling too much. So you can't have them doing that on live TV.
The way they have Mort and Schefter in their own area is good.
"I'd also can the live shots for guys in the green room on the phone...let the suspense build a bit."
I agree, this was bumming me out a bit also.

At one point Lacanfor was reporting something and checking his BlackBerry at the same time.....I chuckled

RESPONSE: Again for the sake of "I told you so" in the future. The most critical need we have is RB.
Why?
Ricky is old and Ronnie is injury-prone whether he stays here or not.
If Chad Henne were Dan Marino, he, like Dan, would not need a running game.
Last year, when Ricky and Ronnie were both playing, Chad became almost impossible to contain. When Ronnie went down and they concentrated on Ricky, we returned to earth.
Chad is one of the best QBs in the NFL right now, but only a phenom like Dan Marino can carry the team on passing alone.
Our back-ups are not good enough to give him the kind of running threat that makes us a potent force.
If we pass on Gerhardt, probably the only big potential back left, we're toast unless we make a trade to get another front line running back to compliment Ricky as Ronnie did.
Sorry ChyrenB, I completely disagree with your assessment of our current situation. We have a full stable of RB's as it is, and drafting one in this years draft would be getting the cart before the horse.
And unless you're speaking of the wildcat formation, only one or the other can be on the field at the same time. Also, before Ronnie got hurt, it was Ricky complimenting Ronnie, not Ronnie complimenting Ricky.
But, on your last comment, you are saying that the Wildcat was never run with Ricky and Ronnie on the field at the same time????
and what does it matter whether Ricky was complimenting Ronnie or vice versa? The point is that we needed a double threat at running back and now we stand in danger of having neither.
Nah, was saying they were only on the field together during wildcat formation. Ricky is going to be playing, and Ronnie will sign his tender very soon. With that I consider this years backfield to be fine. Also remember that we have a long post draft period of time during which we could pick up some people. Marion Barber comes to mind.
