I find it really shady that the team's MO is to try to get these guys to sign contracts without their agents. the only reason to do that is to try to take advantage of the player. as someone else said (Zach?), parcells and ireland have agents and would never agree to negotiate without them. I think it's borderline unethical. If I were the agent or the NFLPA I'd file a complaint with whomever hears such things.

I do however have a sense that at he core, parcell's was opening the hand for a tighter relationship (ala that with Ricky).

Though perhaps unorthodox of parcells in today's world, JT could have gained a lot more by taking the handshake (and $2M offer), and would have also gained an important relationship and perhaps a lead role.

3. JT chose NYJ and will go down in history as ending his career there.

Still not crazy about the public tactics of our FO with vets, but perhaps more to this JT thing than meets the eye.

No. Parcells tried to go around JT's agent and lowball him. It didn't work, so JT is gone.

Interesting point of view..I also remember JT saying his signing would be held off until after the draft. So he knew the timetable going in. Hmmmm.
