zach is 100% right. look, JT is an all time great dolphin, and unless the trifecta wins a SB, they will be out of here in a few years and forgotten--buy JT never will be. they need to get over themselves and lose the ego.
Yeah I guess they could do it the Eagles way, or the Chargers way, or Denvers way, or the Packers way, get over it people, there is no loyalty in the NFL since modern day free agency, this front office is no different then anyone else.
Zach was killing Cam Wake on some radio shows today.
What the hell did this Cam Wake ever do to piss of guys like Porter, Zach, and even Crowder to some extent??? JESUS CHRIST ITS ALMOST BECOME FUNNY AT THIS POINT!
Either one of two things....1) Came Wake is amazing and Porter and JT (througH Zach) feel threatened by him...or 2) Cam Wake sucks and these all pro linebackers have NO respect for him as a player.
It's gotta be one of the two. No inbetween!

I think Cam can be a solid LB, may be even a pro-bowler, but I still think JT is better at this point in his career. JT can use his experience to make up for any lost ability. Cam still has things to learn.
I can't believe we've dumped our 2 starting OLBs from last year. With the 2 major FA signings we've made, it's looking like the FO wants to WIN NOW rather than rebuild anymore. Dumping BOTH OLBs and our starting FS without signing replacements so far is a HUGE risk!! Heck, we even let go of the starting SOLB (Roth) from the year before!!!!
I'm guessing they think Anderson is ready to start, and, maybe, they're expecting big things from Wake. I mean, how can you assume an unnamed rookie can come in and take the starting job at this point? I don't care who we draft at #12. We have a HUGE hole at OLB right now!!

Yeah, but then we're stuck with a young and inexperienced defense, a brand new DC, and 2 HUGE FA contracts!! Our offense is set to make huge strides, but our defense has done nothing but get worse from year-to-year since BP has been here. That's beyond weird for a BP team!
Bottom line, I don't see us winning a super bowl this year with a 2nd year QB. So, I would rather get a YOUNG defense in place and take the growing pains NOW! Get them out of the way.
Just like when Will Allen went down last year it was a blessing in disguise cause it gave Vonte and Sean valuable experience.
And I can make a case that Gabril Wilson cost us 2 games alone last year by himself. Our defense wasn't great, but it wasn't so god awful that it needed to be blown up and the key parts (Starks, Langford, the corners, ) are still in place. Add Dansby....I'm not saying we are any threat to teh 78'-79' Steelers but it isn't awful

You're talking about the prospect of starting 3 rookies (both OLBs and FS) next year!!? That's nuts!

Technically it's his 3rd year, and the NYJ made it to the AFC Championship game with a rookie QB last year. We're going to have, arguably, the best WR in the league along with what can still be one of the best running games in the league. I hate to waste that.

Not awful, but worse than the year before.
Zach, Thanks for saying exactly what I have been saying and thinking for the last month.
Would not even let Zach Thomas say goodbye and kicked his ass off the property basically.
Classless moves and not very bright. I got news for Bill Parcels and mini-B. You aren't finding the next Lawrence Taylor in this draft and I doubt you even find the next DeMarcus Ware.
You want to tell everyone that you want hard working, dedicated players and no problem children...fine.
Just don't tell me it's raining when you are pissin down my back.
You want to call it a business decision when in fact it sounds more like inflated ego to me. You were mad because a professional athlete made a business decision to let his lawyer/agent interpret the legal documents. WOW...imagine the nerve! Did you negotiate and interpret your own contract Bill?... Jeff?
All you had to do was get Ricky stoned before he signed his contract but JT smokes left tackles not hookas.
Hey I like both Zach and JT but they never got this Phins to an AFC championship so I do not understand why the think the front office 'owes' them so much.

Hmm it's interesting that JT nor his agent are currently saying what that offer was.....so it must have been a fair amount, even if JT thought it was low at the time. Oh well.

I agree, but we need to pick up a veteran or 2 as well as draft picks.
I may be in the minority here, but enough with discussions of class or no class. I want the Dolphins to win a Lombardi trophy while I'm still young enough to enjoy it as a fan. Nice guys finish last. Plus, I don't remember Taylor showing all that much loyalty to the Fins when he was Dancing with the Stars and didn't want to show up to training camp. As far as I'm concerned, his legacy was stained when he pushed to be traded to the redskins. Truth is, Zach has a lot more to complain about than Taylor. Zach was loyal to a fault.
Look guys the agent's job is to look out for the best interests of the player...if he/she is any good that is. BP didn't want to deal with an agent because it drags out the process with a lot of haggling.
I wouldn't have accepted an offer without running through and agent and if truth be told, neither would any of you...Taylor did the right thing, and a post it note is very, very, tacky.
If the Dolphins would have simply told Taylor something to the effect of, we want you to come back but are not going to do anything until after the draft, he'd still be with the team.
How hard is it to tell a player up front that he's in the plan or not?
There's also reports that he was offered a contract this off-season, not sure if they're true (his agent denies it) but i'm sure the truth lies somewhere between what both sides are saying.

Are we certain that the FO *didn't* tell him that?
Anyway, nobody ever accused Bill Parcells of being extremely classy, did they?
When he was with the Pats, he didn't even fly back from the super bowl with the team. He regularly snapped back nastily at reporters (my personal favorite on the local Boston news: "That's a STUPID question to ask....you're a JERK for asking that"
Nobody's a bigger fan of Don Shula than I am, that man is the ultimate class act, and when he was left the Dolphins FO, under the circumstances that he did, along with him went any true class we had within the organization. So we may as well not even try to be classy at this point.
We didn't get Bill P so that he could hold up his pinky while drinking a cup of tea, we got him to assemble a winning team. He made Ricky's extension offer in passing without documentation, without going through an agent, and did something similar to JT. At least he was consistent in that regard.
