that the defense will be better because we have a defensive coordinator who is a guru of the 3-4 defense. His hiring alone should move us up about 10 spots because Mike Nolan knows how to coach. I think he is a hell of an upgrade over Pasqualoni who could not get another job as a defensive coordinator after he was fired. Where as it took Nolan less than a day to land with Miami after he let go by their very immature coach. I tend to forget that, and I'm sure that some of you do as well that Getting Nolan from the broncos was an absolute steal of a deal, and we did it without giving them any compensation brilliant just brilliant.

Adam Shein...the annoying Fox sports guy/Howard Cosell wannabe is saying that bar none...Miami has had the best off season in the NFL with Dansby, Marshall And Nolan.

Pasqualoni didn't look for another job as a DC. He got a job hours later in Dallas and was coaching in the playoffs last year.

And you can't give compensation for assistant coaches in this league.eye rolling smiley eye rolling smileyThere are rules against that so trading for Nolan wasn't even possible

I just feel like Mike Nolan and his experience was like adding another 1st round draft choice to our defense. Because if you have have good players but if your coach sucks AKA Cam Cameron then what does it matter.

You can't lay all our failures on Paul. He turned this defense around in 08. The staff wanted a more aggressive scheme, they got one. Paul is the D-line coach in Dallas.

We went from the 23rd ranked D in 07 to 15th in 08. We lost our starting NT, starting CB, starting ILB and a starting OLB (Roth). We played two ROOKIE Corners and a sucky FS. He did not hire the FS.

He did that all while introducing a new scheme as we ran a full time 3-4 defense.

Come on lets get realistic. Nolan has had his failures as well. He is not god just because he is now a Dolphin.

YES!!! If you don't have players I don't care how good a coach you are. Wilson stunk, starting 2 rookie corners, Porter is washed up, Ferguson was out. Crowder missed time. JT played hurt. Merling was overweight. Pasqualoni isn't Buddy Ryan, but he can find another DC job someday. He was dealt a bad hand last year. The year before nobody was complaining about Pasqualoni when he had a healthy unit and veterans who knew the NFL game
