This is a moderated phorum for the CIVILIZED discussion of the Miami Dolphins. In this phorum, there are rules and moderators to make sure you abide by the rules. The moderators for this phorum are JC and Colonel.
The more time that ticks by the less likely JT will warm up to New Jersey. He is probably waking up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat w/ the nightmare of him wearing a fireman Ed helmet and green jersey.
Either JT did this trip at the recommendation of his agent (who clearly says that JT wants to stay in Florida) or this is a more complex manuever by the trifecta.
Irelands last statement is basically...we told her to wait till after the draft and that is wear she stands...next question.
I get a kick out of this "big elaborate Tri-fecta plan" talk. If anything this is Taylor trying to prod our FO or another team into doing something, or he's seriously considering signing with the Jets. And I dont think the backlash of living in Miami after football has anything to do with his decision
Isn't it true that if a FA visits you and doesn't sign on the dotted line before departing his visit, most likely you are not going to sign him. This seems to be the deal 99% of the time, as in Calvin Pace left, we didnt sign him, Ryan Clark, left we didnt sign him, just to name a few off the top of my head.
actually, how funny will it be if after all of the kissing ass and red carpet treatment the jets are giving him he just signs with us after the draft for similar $? would be a nice FU JT gave the jets!

That would be great, but I just dont think our FO has anything to do with this flirtation
.No matter what ... I do not care for the style our FO has shown of late in player negotiations. The tone of disrespect is enough to push players away.
Not just the JT thing but one of about 5 others.
Jt is a vet with a decent resume, and IMHO is a bit under-respected by the way the public play has gone. JT mad a bad choice once before after such public games.
Whether we sign him or not I'd like to see a classier approach.
2. Diversion? I doubt it but possible
If the FO is looking at LB ... and going younger, I'm betting it is later in the draft. This would be a rather crappy poker hand to play in public if they are thinking OLB at #12.
However if they are going LB 2nd round or later, it might be a decent way to divert or mask their hand.
Jets got a 10am press conferene tomorrow in Cortland, NY to announce they will hold training camp there for the 2nd straight year. Shoot HARD KNOCKs....blah blah.
I am POSITIVE they will be asked about JT and that situation. We should have more info by 10am tomorrow!

Speak for yourself. He's also torturing the NY fans. I think he's enjoying the game. I still think he won't sign with NY, but he'll drag it out as long as he can.
I personnaly do not think the drama benefits anyone.
1. Unless the FINS are smart enough (which I have seen zero evidence of) to be looking for DE olb later in the draft and wants to present a diversion for not showing their hand ... the drama only reveals a need.
- Good news is that we have so many needs it keeps theintrigue there anyway.
- Still, drama and JT / FINS play is not a help IMHO
2. JT may have hoped to force the situation and it may result in the opposite result, putting JT in a position of "must go" when it wasn't necessary.
3. I for one think JT has value in both paly potential and in mentoring the youth / leadership. This team has too many other needs to be so blase
Someone else on this board made the comment the if a FA visit comes and goes without them signing, chances are overwhelming in favor of them not playing for that team. I think you have to apply that rule of thumb to this situation. Personal feelings of my vile hatred at the thought of him playing in a Jets uniform aside, I don't think he's gonna play in NY now that I've seen him go there and come back without a contract. Maybe I'm just thinking positive. I don't know.
