We got the ROLE players. Now we need some "ME" players. We need some cocky pricks who care about their stats. We need some guys who are elite talents who are gonna talk the talk and back it up.
You dont win in this league with 22 alter boys in your starting lineup
Just wondering if anyone knows...who was the last FS to come into the league in round 3 and start and play well? Heck....just name one from pick 43 down.
Not too many I'm willing to bet.
We need they ROY out of one of our top two picks. (rookie of the year) It's our turn!

Rodney Harrison was drafted in the 5th round. Kerry Rhodes in Rd 4. Ken Houston was a 9th round pick but that was back in 1966 or 1967 (can't remember the exact year). He's one of the 3 best saftey's to ever play the game. And Willie Wood who wasn't drafted at all, but that was even earlier in the 60's. Another top 5 saftey in league history. But that is going way back..

Well, Jairus Byrd was pick #42, and he had 9 INT as a rookie. It's only one pick away from ours this year.
Charles Godfrey was a 3rd rd pick in 2008, and he started all 16 games that year for Carolina.
thats why I am all for signing Ken Hamlin (who rated out higher than Ryan Clark last year). Give him a 1 year deal and roatate his time with Culver and Clemons.
Worry about saftey next season.
Draft NT and WR this year. Sprinkle in an OLB and call it a draft. Double up on those spots and hopefully 1 hits like it always seems to do!

In what world did Hamlin grade out higher than Clark last year? Clark blew Hamlin away last year.

He has never taken a S in round 1. And he's never taken a NT in round 1 either. And the only NT he ever took in the second round was a complete bust who only played in a handful of NFL games.
I just don't think the value is there at NT, unless it's a guy like Vince Woolfork, who can actually rush the passer. If Dan Williams is a 2-down player, then he doesn't have the value of the #12 pick. You will be able to get a 2-down NT in round 3.
Can someone sum up what was said in the video for me? I can't download video here where I work in Afghanistan. It seems like a lot of you agree with what Trent Dilfer said. Thanks!
dilfer said miami needs a me-first player who will dominate statistically. they talked about dez bryant being that guy but it no one seemed to think parcells would actually take him. then they ran thru the usual defensive names bandied about
