Trade Down in Draft

Here is my take:

The Dolphins have a great shot of trading down....

If 1 or 3 sought after qb's are available, and Seattle doesn't use their first pick on a QB....

I can see them offering the Dolphins their #14 and their #60 to move up to take Sam Bradford...

That would be a small price to pay to ensure that San Fran doesn't take him....

That could give the Fish another 2nd round pick...

Trading down is usually hard...but is very possible if a team is in dire need of a QB....

Seattle is one of those teams...

If that doesn't happen I say we take:

1) Sergo Kindle Round 1
2) Demariius Thomas Round 2
3) Terrance Cody Round 3
4) Nate Allen or Kam Chancellor at Round 4

Chancellor is a ball hawk with great insticts!!! I think will be a good fit for the Dolphins.

I'm not nuts....

It's conceivable that Bradford slips.... no guarantee to go #1

Too much guaranteed $$$ with a suspect shoulder....

If he is available at #12, there will be a crap load of teams looking to draft him....

I would trade down with a good offer.

Bradford is going #1

Rams have taken taken D-linemen the last 2 years, they can't do it 3 years in a row.

Dmearyius Thomas is consistently projected to be selected in the top 25 picks. He won't be there in round 2. And Allen is expected to go in the first half of round 2, so he's not likely to last until round 4.

And we all know projections are always 100% right. Right?

"Dmearyius Thomas is consistently projected to be selected in the top 25 picks. He won't be there in round 2"

says who? TOP 25????? haaaa, believe it when I see it.
Thomas is the 4th WR on my board. BRYANT, TATE, BENN...

MT. CODY will NOT BE a 3rd rounder either...

NATE ALLEN is a 2nd rounder, possibly early 3rd

SERGIO KINDLE is more of a 2nd IMHO, HE TAKES PLAYS OFFthumbs down

I would definately be in favor of a trade down that would land us another 2nd round pick and only have us dropping back a couple spots.

I think a lot of us thought the same thing when we had the #2 (Ronnie Brown) and the #9 (Tedd Ginn). I wish it was that easy. Our track record with high 1st rounders is not great. In other years both those guys would have been chosen further down than they were.

Poor Stevic, sorry buddy, but your sooo WAY off in left field, your just appearing as a . LOL seriously why would Seattle trade down 2 spots??? lol Good train of thought buddy, but I can almost guarantee we won't be taking ANY of the guys you suggested.

I do however feel we should trade down if possible TWICE!!!! Too much talent in this draft. We should trade down as much as possible, because we probably won't be going to the playoffs this year, because I don't see this STUBBORN Staff going after our DIVA RECIEVA!!

I agree i hope we can trade down at least once if not twice and fill the holes in the late first and second rounds.
I wish they would make an offer for FS Atwoge offer sheet or a trade of a couple of low level picks in the 6th and/or 7th.

I believe we should trade down at least once if not twice. We can fill holes more quickly. Also, if we sign FS Atowge to an offer sheet or give the Rams a couple of low level drafts picks in the 6th and/or 7th.

This staff won't do that. They are too stupid to do that, stubborn, and ignorant on our needs. DRAFT DRAFT DRAFT. That's all they preach, yet they wont trade down.

I LOVE THE DRAFT, but come on, another decade to build your entire team from drafts, you will NEVER make it to the Big show! Yeah they made a AWSOME move with Dansby.

They need to make one more BIG splash in the F/A with a trade to either Denver, or SAINT LOUIS. WHOOOOAAA if not then at this rate call me in 2015 when we FINALY make it to AFC Championship!!tongue sticking out smiley

Actually, trading down 2 spots is a good thing. Chances are they could still get who they want, and they get an extra draft pick to boot.

Wild card in this scenario may end up being teams picking up QBs from the PHL free agent glut (McNabb or Vick).

My guess is that they will be loosening up the 1st rounder requirement and someone will swap for Mcnabb and a second.

Are you guys really using the poster boy for inefficiency (DW) as a comparison for what Parcels will do? Our track record for past regimes mean nothing for what we do now under Parcels.

Even with the injury problems, Ronnie Brown was the best RB with a first round grade. No one could have predicted the injuries Ronnie would have. Had he been healthy, he would have been in about 3 Pro Bowls by now and probably led the league in rushing a couple times.

Practically every player drafted in the top 10 that year have been flops with the exception of Ronnie. Benson was a flop for the Bears and Cadillac is more injury prone than Brown.

Many said Parcels reached for DeMarcus Ware at 10 because he was a small school prospect but look at him now.

I am not against trading down a few spots but to do it twice is a little much. We need to grab a star in the first round instead of a few above average or potential flop players in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. BP doesn't miss in the first round. Can't say the same for 2nd and 3rd rounds.

No eesti, I was only pointing out to Mia1 that people do trade down 1 or 2 spots. I used Wanny as an example of this, but in no way insinuated Parcells would go up or down.
