He had surgery and is now competely healthy. You don't run a 4.65 at 258 lbs if you have a bad back. Clearly his back was an issue and is not now. This player reminds so much of a younger Tony Gonzalez, and yes everyone would take Gonzalez in the 1st round no matter where because he has had a great career so far with more to come. So I ask all of you if you have the chance to draft the the next Tony Gonzalez would you even in the 1st round. I would and then tell me our offense is stagnant.
I hate the Idea of going after another TE. We do good enough with our currant TE's. Fasano has a off year, and your busting his balls. I can't help but shake my head at the thought of taking a TE with one of our first picks.
Personaly I believe we should strickly take O,D lineman, LB's, and Safties. If this staff can do that in this draft, then we should be set on defense.
A very good tight end like Jason Witten, Dallas Clark, Jeremy Shockey, Chris Cooley when healthy, and Antonio Gates will make our offense that much better. It is no secret that the teams who have very good tight ends normally make the playoffs. Just look at the teams who made it last year. If he is their in the late 1st or early 2nd round I would draft Gronkowski hands down.
