..from Sparano or Ireland or both?
Something in the form of a 'State of the Team' adddress would be nice.

By this time last year, at least Ireland had held a presser and answered some questions from the media.

It just seem really quiet in Phinland, leaving us fans completely in the dark.

plus anything you hear from the front office is a whole lotta nothin---they never say anything of value, both b/c they don't want to tip their hand and don't want to piss off their current players

Actually, I believe Ireland is scheduled to have a press conference at the Combine this week. But, it's not like he's going to provide a lot of insight into the team's plans.

This about the least likely time of the year that I expect for a GM to reveal their team strategy.

Doing so would only undermine the upcoming draft or put them in a position to be misleading the fan base (if not genuine).

I'd say hang in there and listen as you might to the BS coming from the talking heads who spend their lives predicting and then changing their stories to correspond with the real events that come to be later ... if you want to see into the future.

The good front office and coaching teams will be mum until at least after the draft.

Well now you've heard it. Ireland has spoken and if you read between the lines it sounds like Crowder, Ayodele and Wilson will all be back this season.

I think Ayodele moves to the bench and Torbor gets released but AA will be back. This assuming we can get Dansby which I think we have a good shot of doing.

Also sounds like Ferguson will be back as well and they are happy with the progression of Paul Soliai. I also think that they believe they can do what Parcels has done in the past and draft a NT in the later rounds. Jay Ratliff (224) and Jason Ferguson (229) were selected in the 7th round.

He talks about "getting more production from the WR position"..."in large chunks".

Sounds to me like the first two rounds could involve an OLB and WR. I also think a TE may be taken later on.

Not sure if they value a Dan Williams enough of a higher talent than Ratliff or Fergy...enough to spend a 1st or 2nd pick.

They also like their NT's around 6'3-6'4 and 295-310 lbs.

Makes me wonder if everything they're saying now should be taken with a grain of salt.
