just wondering what this crowd thought of the who's halftime show. I think they've got a lot of good songs, but last night was really embarassing. they looked their age (ancient and wheezing) and daltry's singing was just painful. the nfl needs to trot out some younger blood for the halftime "extravaganzas" but they probably won't bc they are afraid of more wardrobe malfunctions.
After 9/11 there was a CONCERT FOR NY in MSG. Every A-list act was there.
The WHO went on in the middle. THEY ROCKED THE F'n HOUSE!! THey made Bill Joel, Paul McCartney, U2, Beyonce, Rolling Stones, Kid Rock, John Mellencamp,Neil Young, Aerosmith, Jay-Z, Bon Jovi, Aretha, and a bunch of others look like rookies. They should have ended the show right then and there cause everyone who went on after them BOMBED compared to their 4 songs. Cops, fire, EMT workers...they were going bonkers and damn near rushed the stage. They blew the roof off the place.
9 years later, THE WHO have lost it. It's over for them. Age caught up with them. What can ya do, happens to the best of them. At least the light show was cool!

I thought their first two songs were garbage. They *slightly* pulled it together better after that, but not enough to salvage the overall performance.
To make it worse, I read today that some of the vocals were canned, such as Daltrey's scream towards the end. Pathetic.
It's probably a good idea to put someone out there in the future that is young enough to be ineligible for membership in the AARP, but most all the young performers these days are either lip syncing or have pitch-corrected vocals, so what's the point?
Find a musical act that can actually play their instruments and sing live, and put 'em out there. It can't be that difficult. Maybe just bring back marching bands--those still exist, right?
my vote was for -bad...although I kind of understand why this choice was made after all the Janet and Prince "Scandals" The committee opted for a conservative option.
Playing it safe doesn't often win though, ask the Saints..

Love it. Jeff Beck and Beck can jam while John Beck fumbles the mic right into Glenn Beck's hands as he races with it into the end zone. I'd pay to see that!
As for all this Beck business, maybe they can put Glenn Beck on screen with Dick Vermeil and Rex Ryan at halftime and they can all hold each other and cry together

Only if they provide lobotomies prior to the show so that everyone in the audience has the same mental capacity as his average sychophant!! Otherwise, it would be total torture for anyone with brain power north of what God gave to the average hen, not the bright hens, the average hens!!
RESPONSE: I don't think PhinFans2 was serious because I don't think that Glen Beck is really a serious personality. I think he does a bad "Dog and Pony" show. I think PhinFans2 was in favor of giving electric shocks to that bit of really, really, really, BAD theater.

Did not mean to offend all the Libs on this post. To say he is not a serious personality is just another way of saying you have not listened. You may have heard, but not listened.
OK back to THE WHO.
I would have to say I hate Janet for what she did to us!

Maybe, but, then, Keith Olbermann is the king of clowns.
We are paying the price of Janet Jackson being a exhibitionist head case. Just about every other national act, Lady GaGa and Madonna aside, would have the brains to avoid screwing up an excellent gig. We could have boat loads of contemporary acts, or at least 80s and 90s acts that can still deliver the goods.
