I was thinking, since passing D was our weakest point could the brass go for the biggest outside threat and not McClain?

We have to get more pressure on the QB

Could our pick be Pierre-Paul(risk, but high reward) Morgan, hardy or Dunlap?

Chances of the office going non-LB non-WR are next to nothing. Stranger things have happened, but I don't think it'll occur.

If we give Wake and Anderson a chance and let Porter go, I think we'll have a very good pass rush. We could use help at SOLB, but we can get someone in free agency for that or re-sign JT.

I do think OLB is a possibility.

OLB hasn't been a position that is highly drafted in he first round.

Now if McClain isn't on the board-thats when we trade down and possibly look at a guy like HUGHES late in the first.

* enough with 'RISKY' draft choices enough already*

You have to think that part of the plan is to have Wake as one OLB, and that's an upgrade to the pass rush. And JT will likely be back on the other side. Another part of the plan has to be ILBs who can blitz the A-gaps. Since our ILB both suck in all aspects of the game, replacing at least one of them is a bigger priority than getting an OLB. I do think we need both. But, I think an ILB who can defend the run is a bigger deal right now. If you can't stop the run, nothing else matters. And when your two ILB combine for just over 100 tackles, you can't stop the run.

Reality is, we are better against the run although Ferguson was key here, terrible against the pass. A true pass rushing threat makes everyone behind them better as QB's rush passes more. We gave guys days to throw on us. We beat the Colts & Saints(2 SB teams?) with a decent pass rush

I have seen Morgan, Paul, Hardy, Hughes, Dunlap & Griffen going to us & higher in mocks.

Eric norwood & OBrien schofield , boo Robinson, Muckleroy, Angerer(zach Thomas like tackler), Graham could be our 3 or 4 rounders.
Verner is a CB that could be as good as Davis.
