Gabril Wilson should be taking that ride out of town ALONE. We should KEEP TED GINN. (We're going to look awful silly when we trade him to some other team and he develops into an all-pro. A little confidence is not a hard ingredient to add. Once done, he is the type of receiver that can blow the doors off. That Jets game was the REAL Ted Ginn.)

Great article.... I too am feeling optimistic about 2010... and your article was written before the pickup of Nolan.

2010 is going to be other interesting season!

all ted ginn did was return two kickoffs for TD's. Thats what Cam drafted him for remember? lol, I do believe that is the only time he has done anything on his 3 years with us. He did cost us the Indianapolis Game at the end of the year. He had a lot to do with the New Orleans loss as well. I do think you're right about one thing, I think that he may end up going somewhere else and developing. He's a #5 receiver at best right now. I dont trust him yet.

You don't get rid of a physical specimen like that. You find a way to use him.

Absolutely.

Ginn with the Pats would kill us on the scoreboard.

Ginn with the Chargers? Saints? Broncos?

Any team that has a legit #1 guy, and a solid slot, #2WR or TE would take Ginn and turn him into a TD machine.

It is impossible to double cover 3 guys without getting killed by the RB or QB...can't be done.

If we have a new #1 WR with Hartline, Bess and Ginn on the field? one of them is getting open deep or they are clearing a huge middle of the field for Ronnie/Ricky...or Henne to scramble.

Ginn is a #2/#3 Wr waiting for a #1 to take the pressure that comes with that role.

Sure, Ted Ginn will become a great WR just asa soon as someone sews a pair of balls on him.
Until then, he'll still play like the little beotch he's shown us to be since he got here.
Serioiusly, on a scale of 10:
Speed: 8
Hands: 4
Guts: 2
Strength: 3
Return skills: 5 (would be lower if not for the 2 flukes vs Jets)

Pro Bowl!!?? We're talkin Pro Bowl!!??

I'd rather have Josh Cribbs in a blink of a heartbeat!

I would trade Ginn for a bag of Cheesy Poofs. I've written ad nauseam about Ginn and his shortcomings. He's the waste of a roster spot as far as I'm concerned and I think there serious delusion taking place thinking that he will become an all-pro. He has not displayed even one reason to really believe that. He's nothing more than a padded cheerleader, he's a track star in football pads. His criticism regarding his minimal skill set i.e. poor hands isn't his fault entirely. Sure, you can improve on that with extra work what the fact is he is not blessed with great hands. My problem with Ginn lies in the fact that he lacks heart. He runs out of bound or slides to avoid contact, he runs awful routes short of the sticks, he doesn't fight for the ball, he drops far too many easy passes, he lacks football knowledge to run his routes to open other receivers, he won't go across the middle, he short arms passes, he doesn't block, he doesn't hit the weight room to get stronger, he doesn't do the extra work to get better on the practice field, in the film room and with Henne or coaches in the meeting room. I'm not cheering against again Ginn but the facts are the facts, he has not performed nor has he shown even a glimpse that that will change. To this point he is a waste of a roster spot.

Agree. He is, after all, the only guy in the league that made toast out of Darrell Revis this year.

That's true. I always felt Clayton was our #1 WR and Duper was #2.
This explains it perfectly. Ginn can play a role similar to Duper, but we need that #1.
