Mike Nolan is a great defensive coordinator!! Just fired today by Denver. He did a great job turning around the Broncos defense last season. This guy solves ALL OF OUR PROBLEMS calling defensive plays!!

agree 100% Mike! I read the split was actually mutual Between Nolan and Mcdaniels. They are saying Nolan wanted another job somewhere else. Hope it's with us! He took the broncs from 29th overall defense in 08 to 7th overall in 09. He would be perfect for us!

Aside from his NFL bloodlines, the guy has experience in a variety of schemes, with a variety of coaches, and has had HC experience which is a good thing.

He isn't experienced enough to be a threat to Tony, but he could become a great colleague sounding board.

And at 50..he is fresh.

Get him!!

We have to get this guy! Did a great job in Baltimore and Denver. San Fran D is not to bad either.

If our defense didn't blow it in several games this year, we would have won the AFC East. We were in it against Indy and New Orleans. We would have beat Buffalo twice. We would have beat Houston. Those games went on the defense. Give us those 4 and we win the division.

They are on the defense because we have no players on defense!! It isn't all the coaching! We don't have guys who can make plays. We have the oldest LB's in the league. We have no back-up NT. And our safties suck. A new coach might help a little, but without new players. BETTER PLAYERS, not much will change

That would be Great to get a guy like him! Denvers pressure was great and we have guys that are just as good if not better than Denvers.

I'm tired of arguing with you Mike. If you can't see how we mis-used the talent we had on defense this year, then your not paying attention.

We had a similar but better front 3 this year with Starks

Same for the LB crew with JT (who should have been used on the weak side)

The real difference was in the secondary. Same Db's on one side with the other side playing very well in Denver.

Injuries killed us this year but Nolan and a few key players on D (ILB & NT) put us right back in the playoff hunt. Assuming our young DBs continue to develop.

Add a stud WR and we are legitimate contenders.

Broncos gave up 27 points in 7 of last 10 games, that is not good

We really need a Nolan type of defense. I hope it happens!

Is this the guy that was HC in SF?
