Porter - he'll be gone. With Anderson and Wake, we have viable young players to replace him. No need to keep him and his bloated contract around.
Ayodele/Torbor - We'll be bringing in competition, through the draft and, possibly, Free Agency, to compete with these 2. I think they'll both be brought back and given a chance to compete (seeing as we're really thin at ILB to begin with), but one or both could be gone by the beginning of the season.
Jason Allen - He'll be given a chance as well to compete, but there will be a numbers issue at CB. I think we'll try to re-sign Nate Jones. This means we'll have Will Allen, Davis, Smith, and Jones, making JA expendible. He may survive purely on special teams.
Will an uncapped season doom the NFL like it has doomed MLB? I don't the like the idea of no salary cap. I think its important to keep parity and compitition in the NFL.
Well, lets see the first NFL player to hit $20 for one season!
right now, wikipedia has this for the top 6:
1. Julius Peppers $16.683M
2. Carson Palmer $16.166M
3. Eli Manning $15.28M
4. Nnamdi Asomugha $15.155M
5. Ben Roethlisberger $14.664M
6. Peyton Manning $14M
The funny thing is... How in the world do you pay anyone in the NFL more than Peyton? for real? I think if Peyton were to get hurt, the Colts wouldn't win a single game.
I'm predicting that in an uncapped NFL... Adrian Peterson will become the first player to break $20M when his contract comes back around!
