We need to make sure we grab one of these two players in free agency...I'd rather have Clark due to age but either one would be good.
Ryan Clark...solid saftey for the Steelers and not too old at 30. He had a solid year last season with 89 tackles (68 solo) in 15 games, 3 Ints's and 8 passes defended. He's also a solid tackler and a big hitter.
Tyrone Carter....another solid player but he was #3 on the Steelers' depth chart last season and his age is a slight concern (he'll be 34 in march). Beyond that he had 61 tackes last season (49 solo) in 16 games, 1 sack, 2 Int's, 4 passes deneded, 1 TD defended and 1 forced fumble.

That won't fix things. Bell's natural position is SS as well.
It's true. Wilson is here to stay. Omar Kelly has reported that. As has Armando I believe. But its been reported a few places.
They feel Wilson with another year in a 3-4 defense will improve. Or if you move him to his natural position that will help as well. They aren't cutting ties with Wilson

That's the problem. Bell is an average on a good day type of player and he is one of our best. If we let him go he will be easy to replace. He is nothing special
Bell is one of our best defenders. He's a very good SS. And people forget, we just signed him to a big contract this past offseason, too. He's not going anywhere.
Don't be surprised if Wilson is given another year in the system to prove himself. He was a good FS for a Super Bowl winning team just two years ago.
I'd still be happy if they got rid of his sorry behind. I have not seen anything from him since he got here that makes me think he'll be a good player for us. Adding Ryan Clark to the mix would give us some much needed attitude on defense and he will be available.

Uhhh...WE traded for A J Feely. WE traded for Joey Harrington. WE traded for Lamar Gordon..and the draft picks we gave up were pretty high. None of those guys were pro-bowlers, and the teams the got our draft picks were happy to get them.
if they are both SS why would they cut the better player (Bell) over the worse one (Girbil)?
Don't say $$ bc they are both making a lot and it's an uncapped year anyway.

Dude, no need to get insulting. The Raiders gave us their 4th and 6th for Samson Satele (and our 4th). I'm pretty sure Satele isn't even starting for them anymore. Meanwhile, we picked up Brian Hartline with the 4th. Hartline looks like he could be a solid #2 WR for us for years to come. We've barely missed Satele.
