Lane Kiffin just screwed the University of Tennessee, players & recruits by bolting for the USC job. Kind of funny that Al Davis called him a liar. Maybe the Crypt Keepers father was right all along.

Has the world gone crazy? This 19 year old was handed an NFL team, fired before anyone could really gauge his potential for success, hired at Tennessee, has a pretty decent rebound year for a recently "in-the-gutter" program (though with Eric Berry at Safety he did have some pretty outstanding talent to work with), and then snakes away to take a job that Bill Cower and Jack Del Rio's names came up in speculation of who would be landing there. And USC looks at that resume' and says "oh yeah, he's our guy!" What do I know, maybe he's the next brilliant young football mind, but the whole situation sure confuses the hell out of me

He is probably a big fool. Know about the OJ Mayo situation that affected USC basketball? Mike Garrett, the Athletic Director at USC (yep, the former Heisman prior to OJ Simpson), has tried to step ahead of the NCAA and VOLUNTARILY forfeit all of their games won while OJ was playing plus voluntarily prohibit the Trojans from playing in any post-season basketball tournaments. This is before the PAC-10 or the NCAA weighs in.

Now, they say the same thing AND WORSE is what is coming up with the USC football program because of REGGIE BUSH. THAT is the REAL REASON, rumors have it, 1) that Pete Carroll TOOK THE FIRST BOAT OUT AND 2)their first choice, the Oregon State Univ. coach gave a quick "no thank you" and 3) Jack Del Rio said, "Me, neither" today leading them to grab the first fool who said yes.

More importantly, all of the football recruits are reconsidering. (I personally don't know what the legal ramifications of a letter of intent is and I really don't know whether that period is still open.) Moreover, present USC players are considering transferring out.

Lastly, of course, you can forget getting any decent recruits for the next four years or so.

All that being true, who in the hell would want to coach the football trojans.

Pete Carroll, as it turns out, is really no better than Belicheat. He cheated (probably knew all about Reggie Bush) and then like a rat deserts the sinking ship.

Lane Kiffin's got his problems, but he's bringing with him Ed Orgeron, an excellent recruiter, and his father, Monte Kiffin, an outstanding defensive coordinator. Oh yeah, and Layla.

This might be the best USC could do at this juncture (facing probable NCAA sanctions). I mean, Mike Riley turned them down. It'll be interesting to see how many recruits they can keep committed.

I've heard that the NCAA is snooping around USC...if they are looking for infractions?....and there is the chance of program discipline.....Other candidates may have said "no thanks".

Pete Carrol left in a hurry for Seattle after turning down several NFL teams including our own.
