anyone know how these tiebreakers shake out? I think we're screwed b/c it's weakness of schedule (weakest sched wins) and as we all know we had a brutal schedule

nfl.com has us ranked (click on Standings by league) 10th from the bottom with Jacksonville 11th from the bottom and Chicago 12th from the bottom.

I don't understand that because we beat Jacksonville and as such since we are both under Chicago, we should be higher than them.

I don't think that is official, they still don't have the Tenn record updated yet. I think we played a tougher sched than the others, so I think we're prob ending up at 12

Not sure where this puts us vs. chicago & Jacksonville , I would think we would have the toughest schedule. After winning %

Strength of schedule for the previous season is the first tie-breaker for teams with the same winning percentage.

• Divisional and conference records are the next step in the tie-breaking procedure.

• As a last resort, a coin toss is used to determine the order of selection for teams with the same winning percentage.

• If a playoff and non-playoff team end the season with the same winning percentage, the non-playoff team selects before the playoff team regardless of strength of schedule.

My Guess

STL SUH
Detroit McCoy
Tampa Berry
KC Okung
Wash Clausen
CLE Bradford or Bryant
Sea Mays
OAk McClain
Mia Bryant if on the board? if Not Dunlap, Weatherspoon or Morgan
Jack TeBow
Chi Bryant iaf avail

Draft Ties are tied with Strength of Schedule. Ie in the 2010 draft they look at the 2009 season...not the Strength of Schedule as set out before the 2009 season started.

You add up the victories of all opponents of this season ( division teams count twice) and the one with the weaker schedule wins.

Adding up the victories of the opponents of the 3 teams :

Miami Opponents = 109 victories

Jax Opponents = 121 victories

Chicago opponents = 127 victories.

Even if the Jets win, our schedule was easier than the other teams.

That means we suck more than I though since we had a weak schedule and still lost too many games.

It also means we should get the 10th pick!!!

That was worth losing today! Not saying it was on purpose :-)....but it was worth it.

hope you're right!! agreed, I think losing today was worth about 5 or 6 draft slots. I'm already over the loss but have 4 months to think about a top-10 pick!!

like I said, I'm already over this loss--well worth it for 6 spots in the draft order. so all in all it was a good loss...

Don't be shocked if 3 QB's go in the Top 10. Buffalo, Washington and possibly Cleveland

Miami will have their pick of the #1 WR on the board. And should have any DT of their choice not named Suh or McCoy

Don't care. We need McClain. You're worried about him being a bust, but what about WR or DT? McClain is a special player. He'll be the next Ray Lewis, but hopefully without the off-field issues.

Im worried about any rookie being a bust. Not him specificaly.

Im against taking a LB in Rd 1. Especially if we have our choice of ANY wide reciever in the draft on the board at #12. If Henne is the "real deal" and our QB of the future. You build around him and give him elite weapons.

In this league you win games via the passing game and scoring points. The days of 3 yards and a cloud of dust and playing strong defense are over. Sure defense is important, but being able to move the ball through the air (which the rules are tilted to doing) and scoring and getting yards in chunks is what the game has evolved too. So, if a Dez Bryant is there, you don't pass that up. Henne, Bryant, Hartline....that is your future offense!! Behind a rock-solid O-line that you are paying $153 mill too!!!

Problem is we're not the 2000 Rams. What are we building if we keep pumping huge $$ into the offense and neglecting the defense? There will be WRs available in FA. We can also trade for one. We won't get anywhere if we can't stop teams from scoring on us.

what money are we constantly pumping into offense? We got a TE and FB off the scrap heap. We have no WR's to speak of. We have a yonug QB picked late in Rd 2 who isn't making a ton. Ronnie Brown will get a new deal that is less than his current deal and Ricky is playing for free esentially. Ginn most likely is cut to get out from under his deal. Smiley could be gone for the same reason.

Who are we paying on offense? Seriously, we pay nobody other than Jake Long!

Yup, I was watching tv while I was adding it up. oh well, 12 is better than 15.

The good news is that means we are better than I thought :-)

We dropped several close games this year with all of our deficiencies; next year...with more experience at Corner, WR, and QB; and hopefully some Off-season upgrades...plus an easier schedule....we should be in good shape to make the play-offs.

yeah.....and a $153 mill divded among 5 players isn't that much money. You totally missed my point. And if we cut Simley to get out from under hsi deal in an uncapped year then our oline isn't making all that much money. eye rolling smiley

Researched?? For who smiling bouncing smiley ha ha ha

Let's look at those first round busts at WR in recent years. Dwayne Bowe. Calvin Johnson. Crabtree took off half the year and still played great. Santonio Holmes. Roddy White.....except for Ginn and the bum the Raiders took last year Heyward-Bey not a lot of busts in reality. And look who made the Ginn and Raiders picks (morons)
