I feel bad for Pennington after what he did for us last year but he played his role here for the 2 years he was signed and did it well either so he was injured most of this season.
But I could see him mentoring another young QB as he did here.
I think Oakland would be a perfect fit for Pennington if there is no roster spot for him here, give him the starting job for the Raiders and have him mentor Russell or Gradowski for a year or 2.
I don't think you would see Penny take a backup roll on this team unless the offers are far and few from other teams... He was outstanding for us and a great guy... But it was known he would be done for us after this year....
He'd be a wise choice for the Redskins while they rebuild their entire offense if they don't feel Colt Brennan is ready. Jason Campbell is at best a decent backup and will likely be gone.

LOL..no. Pennington has been in the league for over 10 years! He's allowed to leave when his contract is up

a lot of teams would actually. In a league where teams spend more man-hours and more money on any other position. When you can get a smart QB who knows how to win....Pennington will always have a job and have work.
Not saying he will be a superstar but he will always have a spot on an NFL roster somewhere among 32 teams
I like that idea-but how do you keep Pennington around if Henning doesn't retire this year? And..how do you know Pennington is ready to retire? From what I hear, he isn't, so he'll end up going somewhere else.
Where ever he ends up, he'll be an asset to his team. He brought some stability to the QB position here, & did a fine job as a mentor for Henne. I appreciate his contribution to this team, & I wish him the best for his future. Definitely wouldn't mind him sticking around, but with the arm that Thigpen has, I'm a bit torn between the two & tend to lean towards the gunslinger....
Chad pennington , what a class act . at least he got to stick it to the jets . he led us to win the division and he beat the jets . hed make a good coach one day . thanks chad ......maybe hell compete for the starting job . we could use his leadership and smarts .
