I was hoping Dan Williams had a really good game so that he would surpass Mount Cody maybe Cody would slip to us in the 2nd. But also look for Arrelious Benn, Eric Norwood, Brandon Spikes, Deunta Williams.

Splitting hairs? You said "in hopes we MIGHT get McClain". I wouldn't pull off ANY trade unless our side was guaranteed. It sounded like you were willing to pull off a big trade before draft-day just to move up, even though we might not end up with McClain. That would make no sense.

you guys are dreaming. first off, what makes you think we will be picking #11? As I look at it, if we lose to Pitt we'd still be tied with other 7-9 teams and we won't have the tie breaker with any of them since the tie breaker is weakness of schedule and we had a very strong sched this year. If we lose to Pitt we will more likey be 14 or 15, and if we win we could have 17 or 18.
Secondly, why would any team give up a top 10 draft pick for our crap--Ginn and Porter and a 2d rounder? Dreaming....

well the upside if we lose sun to pitt is that we prob move up 5 spots in the draft with a loss

Here is my first 7 round mock. I think the pics are pretty good and accurate towards our needs. As the off-season continues, I might (and probably will) have some updates.

Braylon Edwards-Free Agency

1st round pick- ILB- Alabama- Rolando McClain
2nd round pick- ILB- Florida- Brandon Spikes
3rd round pick- S - UNC - Deunta Williams
4th round pick- WR - Kansas - Dezmon Briscoe
6th round pick- DT - Wyoming- John Fletcher
6th round pick- TE - Marshall-Cody Slate
7th round pick- OLB- Ariz.St.-Dexter Davis
7th round pick- OT- Marshall-Daniel Baldridge

1st round pick- ILB- Alabama- Rolando McClain
2nd round pick- ILB- Florida- Brandon Spikes

this would be PHENOMINAL eye popping smiley

Agreed, but is there no other team looking for an ILB? I have a feeling Spikes will be gone by the time we pick in the 2nd round.

12th is a long way from BERRY and in very close proximity to McCLAIN.

We may have to scramble to trade down if DENVER takes McClain from underneath our noses...

SEATTLE, OAKLAND, JAX thats my favorite trade partners to move up.

1. CJ Spiller RB Clemson Help the D by keeping the O off the field

2. A Jones NT Syracuse 1st round talent, injured most of SR
year. Strong great character & energy

3. S Lee IB Penn State Not the name everyone wanted to
hear but a steady player

4. K Coleman FS Ohio State - we need a natural FS

6a M Williams WR Syracuse - bonehead w/ 1st round skills I really
think this guy did not want to go to college

6b R Vaughn FS UConn - do we need a natural FS

6c D Nelson WR Fl - doesn't KC owe us another pick?

7a J Grahmn TE The U - Ex BBall player still coming along

7b E Edofia DT Stanford

CJ Spiller RB Clemson - HE IS TOO FAST, the defense would be right back out there on the field after he scores. IMO Its like someone told me SPILLER is a luxury we cannot afford. And so is WR DEZ BRYANT.

A Jones NT i in the 2nd? haaaaa thumbs down what about VINCE OGHOBASEE 6'6 305

S Lee IB Penn State -sean is running SLOWLY(4.8ish) on a repaired knee thumbs down

K Coleman FS Ohio State - NEVER heard of him

M Williams WR Syracuse -'BONEHEAD'? but 4.4 fast tongue sticking out smiley

R Vaughn FS UConn thumbs up drinking smiley

D Nelson WR Fl thumbs down

E Edofia DT -Ekom Udofia, Stanford thumbs up

J Grahmn TE The U thumbs down

-------- I would be DEVASTATED by these selections. Sorry MIZZ confused smiley

If Rolando McClain is available, I think we will probably take him. If not I think we will try to trade down the idea being that we will probably take a NT, but 11 is too high to take either Dan Williams or Mount Cody. With that in mind, I think we will end up with something like:

1 Dan Williams NT

2. Brandon Spikes IL

and perhaps a 3rd? It's beyond me who we'll get in later rounds. So many needs.

Mock drafts such as this are comical. Sure I can understand the McClain and Spikes pick, but the later rounds? A & O did you spend alot of time watching John Fletcher at Wyoming? What is it that you like about what you saw from Fletcher when you were watching Wyoming play each week? Oh and Daniel Balridge from Marshall? Did his footwork catch your eye when you were watching all of those Thundering Herd games?

Quit acting like you know what kind of players these guys are just because you read a quick blurb about them on a draft site.

Oh yeah,...can't have that. Also, we should down the ball on every Kickoff return and fair catch on every punt return because we don't want to score on a return...that'd be TOO FAST! No long passes either. That would lead to a quick score! confused smiley grinning smiley

I don't claim to be an expert on anything at all related to the draft. Frankly it kind of bores me.

I was only commenting on the 'problem' of scoring too fast. When we score a TD, I'm happy, no matter how quick it happens.

I like the idea of signing (NT) Willfork away from the pats and adding maybe a FA cornerback if a decent one is available. Maybe try S Smith at free safety sometimes.

I think LB MCclain is a good fit for Miami and then miami could draft another LB later maybe P Angerer.

Ginn may be able to make a few big plays if we get a true #1 goto guy and just don't put any expectations on Ginn.

What about WR Cooper from florida or Shay Hodge from Ol'Miss? May be options as 3rd or 4th rd picks.
