The thing that upsets me more than anything with this team is that they can't seem to play a full game. If they could just get that single thing accomplished then we would have twelve wins or more this season...I agree that the team has holes to fill and I think the coaches are doing a good job (not great) with what they have on the roster. I also agree with those that don't think that Sparano needs to be on the hot seat yet.
With what we have player wise we have done well...I predicted we would do no better than 8-8 this season anyway.

86 years the Sox waited....our last win was in 1973, so that means 2059 is our year!

Bottom line, we are gonna win 7 or 8 games this year. NEXT year if we win fewer than we win this year.....Tony's gonna get canned! You can take that to the bank
He's not getting canned cause we are not gonna lose as many games next year. We are getting better....our record might be worse but I think (especially with as many injuries) we showed alot of promising things (except on most of the defense).
Im gonna find out how many horrible teams we beat last year by barely a FG...im gonna do the research. WE played really, really good teams this year and almost beat them. We hung in there and fought, maybe too little too late alot of the time....but we were still in the game.

While that may be true, Mike, you started the thread out by saying Sparano HAS to...
1. Fire Pasqualoni
2. Make the playoffs
3. Win a playoff game
An example of our horrific LB play was when Ayodele had Moats on a screen pass for a 5 yard loss. He misses the tackle and Moats makes a 20 yard gain out of it. Good coaching there, but the player turned it into a chunk play for Houston. A week before Ayodele did the same thing in pass coverage against Bo Sciafe.
As far as the quitting? No way, We came back in the 2nd half, and our D shut them down. I was, however, scratching my head with Sparano's choice of when to punt / go for it in the mid to late 4th Q. We need good ISLB / a good WR and I think we'll win the division next year.
Until then, lets beat Pittsburgh, and see where the cards fall. One thing to note, the Raiders have played well one week, then they play like crap the next week. They played like crap against Cleveland last week. I can see them beating Baltimore next week. They did beat Philly at home earlier in the year (they destroyed them actually).

I know and the conversation throughout the thread evolved...jees. And I stand by the list of 3 thigns I mentioned.
Mike, the reason ppl are jumping on you is because you sound like you want all this gloom and doom shit to happen. You are without a doubt now the most negative nancy poster on these boards. Post something with a positive attitude and a positive outlook and you might make yourself feel better. Go ahead, try it.

1) don't care if people jump on me
2) I don't want gloom and doom...but I watch the games. I see our crappy play. I see us getting worse and not better. And I live in reality that IF this continues then our head coach will be fired. That's reality buddy.
Enough sense has already been stated by A&O and PF2 and a handful of others.
We're a young team with a young QB who has no weapons...we had injuries to KEY players with one of the toughest schedules in the league. We took nobody by surprise this year...all the other teams played us tough...the wildcat lost it's teeth and we don't have a single superstar player on either side of the ball. Our coach made some questionable decisions but he is the guy on the sideline and has all of the info at the time of his call. He is passionate, tough, and the players love him.
All of you Monday Morning Quarterbacks have the ability to watch the game on your HD TVs, see the replays, rewind the DVR, and second guess every playcall and basically rant and rave and scream with ZERO accountability. This isn't Madden.
If you don't think this team is going places then I don't know what to tell you. Sparano is building something special here.
Bottom line is this...
MikeO loves when you guys try to talk sense to him because it gives him an opportunity to act like an idiot with no repercussions...much like our weekly MMQBs.
Well, it's quite simple really. Whenever you look under the "Started By" heading, and see Mike0 or Phinjim, make sure the "Views" and "Posts" columns read 0.
