Can we contain CJ?

I'm less worried about containing CJ than I am about scoring enough points.
Titans defenmse has looked great of late and they are on something like a 6 game win streak.
I think we can win, but will need to score every time we have the ball. The mistakes against JAX were only oiffset by a suddenly stout defense in the 4th Qtr.
Rotating the DEs and better CB play is starting to show up in the outcome.
Too much risk with turnoivers however ... we need to win the turnover battle and make 7 each tie we have the ball.
Tenn is trying to get CJ a bunch of single season records. Meaning WE KNOW he will get the ball a lot, so that should take a lot of the guess work out of things. Key in on him.

Oooh... that explains it Mike. I guess all of the other teams didn't realize that Chris Johnson would get the ball alot when gameplanning for the Titans.

No, but up until they lost to Indy last week, they were making a playoff run. NOW their season is over so they can feed him the ball more than normal since the outcome of the game is meaningless to them. To help him (and his teamates) celebrate a single season record in some categories as a sense of accomplishment.
Hopefully, we can come up and score points early and control the clock. It doesn't take CJ out of the passing game, but it does make them play catch up which may contain his running a bit.
Who'd have ever thought an NFL team would have to worry about ECU boys two weeks in a row. Wish we woulda picked CJ. I'd love to be pulling for my own. Arggggghhhhh!!!!
My problem is CJ is on my fantasy team and the Dolphins are my fantasy Defense. What do I do? I am leaning toward betting on my Defense to load the box and stop him for nothing more than 50 yards.

Yeah, well, it's too bad Sparano can't keep your fantasy score in mind when drafting his gameplan

I knew Chris Johnson was going to be good when I saw him in college. I'm a VT fan and have enjoyed our series with ECU. We paid you back this year for the opener in Charlotte the year before last. CJ went 10 for 29 yards against us. But then again, no one runs against our 'D'.
Still, I remember watching him in ECU's bowl game against Boise St. that year. CJ went off for 200 yards plus, you could tell he was in a different league. Do you think Dwayne Harris, y'alls game breaker WR has pro potential?
D Harris is a playmaker! In a lot of ways, he reminds me of Steve Smith (Panthers), Wes Welker, and our own Davone Bess, but faster than all of them. A bit short for an NFL receiver but makes up for it with speed and toughness. Hope he comes back next year but if he doesn't, I'd love to see him in a Dolphins uniform!
I used to love the Va. Tech rivalry when I lived in G-ville (89-04). Not much of a rivalry since you've had a distict edge over the past 15 years. Tech's football program has really taken off in that time where we've just been left out in the cold (Conf. USA). It's nice having a coach that will stick around (Beamer). Hopefully Skip will stick around and build something there. We'll have a QB next year...watch out!

If Vince does not play we WILL shut down johnson. I predict if VY does not play 17 carries for 65 yards. he will do most of his damage recieving dump off passes out of the backfield since our defense probably couldnt even cover their own beds at night...
