I havent looked it up, but I definately could go back and look up all the people that bashed the Regime for picking Hartline. I always thought he would turn out to be better than Turner. Not only has he been waaay better than Turner, he is our 2nd best WR. Not too shabby for a rookie.
This guy reminds me of a young/faster Ed McCafferey. He always seems to be able to get open. I can only imagine this guy in a year or two with a true #1 and Bess lined up in the slot. We could be *DANGEROUS*!
Now admit who you are, and eat your big plate of crow.

we need a number one but is bowe really true game changer?
I would love to have my fair share of crow unfortunately I didnt really follow him in college. Actually I had never heard of him until we drafted him. he is having a very solid rookie camp. If we continue to pass he can definetly help. I would like to see what turner can do though. If not only around the goal line.
I don't know how many of you guys are seasoned enough to remember this name but Hartline reminds me of a young Steve Largent. The quickness, the hands, the ability and instincts to get his body in the right position to make the catch. He's good.
In the NFL quickness and hands mean more than speed. Ginn is and example. I'll take a guy that is top speed in a couple steps and can catch, before I take speed. Some good examples above. Players that made a difference. Move the chains, get in the endzone, seperate enough to make the catch. Yup, I like Hartline.
Speed has nothing to do with why he is good. He is amazing for a rookie, in that he has an incredible ability to get open in the 10-25 yard range....ala Ed McCafferey.
No knock on Bess at all but he is amazing at getting open in the 3-8 yard range. WHich is great in its on way.

Although I was a kid, I definitely remember him but I am not seasoned enough to make a credible comparison so I will have to trust you on it. Still, I remember watching him play and his name came up all the time. All time great WR and if Hartline can even come close to that type of impact that would make him the steal of the draft at WR.
I mean Hartline had a nice game, but you are comparing him to a hall of famer in Largent and Easy Ed McCaffery? I wish/hope but let's see him produce a bit more first.
I'm actually there with many of you on Hartline. He is fast enough and good enough to get open down the field and catch the ball. Whether it's quickness, speed, smarts, route-running...he gets open down the field and catches the ball. I like him. He doesn't look like a true #1, but it would be a well-rounded WR arsenal to have Hartline, Bess in the slot, a true #1 and Ginn coming in for the occasional bomb.

How can any Raider-Hater forget Biletnikoff....I couldn't STAND how good he was, but he was one of the few Raider players that I truly respected. Yes, it was legal to use stick-em back then, and Fred had his socks covered with it. If you wanted to tackle him just grab his shins, he'd be like a bug on flypaper. I always wonder how good a receiver he'd be were it not for the adhesive that he used excessively.

I always thought the stick-em was ridiculous. Biletnikoff was a big reason they got rid of it. Today they use gloves. Much better deal.
I always wondered about the stick-em and Fred too. However, he really knew how to get open even with the bump-and-run. Just super quick with good size and just enough speed.
