You know what I going to say... remember way back in december of 2007 when I was hyping up this kid coming out of hawaii and I said "this guy is the next welker", "the best slot guy in years and I think one of the top 3 WR coming into the 2008 draft" what did you say.

You said and I quote "He is a bum!" every one from hawaii are bums.

What say you now aqua man. Yess once again the reppa is all knowing smiling smiley

I admit I was definately wrong on him. He has definately broke the chain of horrendous players out of a June Jones big play offense at Hawaii ( I know Jones isnt there anymore).

I can only imagine how good he could be with a legitimate #1 WR where he could actually line up in the slot instead of outside.

We will find out his true potential next year when we have that true #1 receiver.

Nice to see Henne get someone he can use when he needs the 1st down ... al welker.

Like welker he'ds be twice as dangerous if we had an opposite side #1 who could get open and hang on to the ball.

Hartline is coming on, but we need a freak who can dominate

This does not apply to anyone posting above but I can't help but remember, while we're remembering, that I was out of my mind with fury when we got rid of Wes Welker and it seems that the majority of the board was wondering why I would care so much for the loss of this munchkin.

Now, he is being talked of on this board as the Gold Standard in number 2 receivers which I thought he was when he was playing with us. Too bad that the then management did not think so also.

the only mistake we made with welker was not tendering him at a first round level. *at the time* he was a good role player on a bad rebuilding team. I'd have traded him for a first round pick in a second and so would anyone else. and at the time tendering him at a 2d level and letting him go for a 2d and 6th was not a terrible move, though obviously in hindsight it was. But honestly, given what WRs fetch in trades, I think if the pats traded him today for a 2d and a little bit more than a 6th, that would not be considered out of whack.

I was also dissappointed with the Welker trade at the time. Shortly after the trade I spoke with a cousin of mine who is a big pats fan and I told him flat out that with Brady throwing to him he could expect big things from Welker. I reiterated the point after they got Moss.

Happy with Bess. We won't trade him.

Welker is a great player but he is most certainly benefiting from the presence of Moss on the field.

Remember the end of Nat Moore's career? We had Duper and Clayton on the field at the same time. The opponent's DBs keyed on the young speedsters, and Moore got lots of passes thrown his way as a result.

Funny thing, the Pats traded more for Welker than they did for Moss.

Nat Moore was still very good and that helicoptor hit is a great highlight.

Hahah I'll never forget that play. I thought for sure he'd be badly hurt but he jumped right back up.

At the time the Welker trade was a good move for the team. I said at the time and I still say it now.

This, despite the fact that I loved Welker as a player when he was with us.

Reppa, I do remember you hyping up Bess and being very excited when we signed him.

I also remember you had a crush on Cleo Lemon. smiling smiley
