Joey is inactive for tomorrows game. He isn't injured, this is a "coaches decision"

Safe to now say Joey is playing out the string as a Miami Dolphin. This is officially a clear sign he isn't coming back next year. When your a starter, not injured and the coach makes you inactive for a game.......yeah, nice knowing ya. Don't let the door hit ya!!

Honestly, at 3-5 I see no reason to have him active the rest of the season. We aren't making the playoffs, might as well give time to Wake and Roth.

I agree with everything you said. Except your, not making the playoffs, comment at the end. Now that the coaches got their heads out of dirt we have a chance. Never give up!!!! Good bye Joey P.spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

Shouldn't have been that hard of a decision. Cameron Wake practically has more tackles AND sacks than Porter from like the measly 10 snaps he's taken so far versus all the snaps Porter's taken in all his 8 games starting. Let the Wake era of assaulting QB's everywhere begin!

In the AFC you can give up. We got no shot at the playoffs. Wild Card is impossible, too many teams to pass (Hous,Pitt/Cincy, Denver/SD, Baltimore, NYJ Jax,...etc) and catching New England to win the division will be next to impossible unless Brady gets hurt.

Tough to start Roth after he has missed so much time this year. I would think Anderson gets another start

The fans have been clamouring for Wake, the stats say he can't be worse. BUT, the coaches don't want to look like they are reacting to the reporter's and the fans demands.

They will platoon a variety of looks & groups including JT at his new spot and Anderson in for Porter, then JT over to the right and Wake & Roth on the left. AND...if we are lucky....Roth and Wake.

Roth at left...Wake on the right should give us a nice look at youth, power, speed.

I hope our coaches don't react to the fans and the reporters. Fans and reporters don't know what they are talking about.

These guys spent some significant money on Wake. I'm sure that if they felt he was ready, he'd be playing more. But, pay attention to how Wake has been used when he's played. It's been as a DE, not a LB. He may not be a LB at this level. He played DE in Canada. We need to give him more time, another offseason. But, he may just be a pass rushing specialist DE, not a starting LB. And that's fine. He's got 3.5 sacks. He's only played in 6 games. And in most of those games, his snaps have been very limited. Project him out to more snaps per game, for all 16 games, and you're talking about a guy who can get 10+ sacks as a specialist. That's great.

We gave Charlie Anderson a 3-year, $7.35M contract. I am perfectly happy getting to see what he has to offer with regular playing time. He's a fast guy who has shown some pass rush ability when he's had chances to play, both with us and with Houston.

We (Chris and I) sat in on a discussion with Tony Sparano last night and he wouldn't comment on the Joey Porter decision, except to say that it was a "coaches decision" and that he felt that is was important to keep his (Sparano's) house "in order".

I don't think this necessarily means that Porter's career with Miami is over. Last year, Soliai was suspended for a game and he's still around, but I've also heard that Joey Porter has been a real asshole in the locker room this past week - at least to the press.

Sparano also told us that he thinks that Joey Haynos and Cameron Wake will be making a bigger impact over the next few weeks - which, of course, means more playing time for both.

To bad it has taken so long! However it has finally happened and most of us are extremely happy about it. Alot of people on this forum have really bagged on parcells. If you go down the roster you can tell they are builing a very good team. It may be next year, but I am a fan for life and am super excited about the future of the Phins!!!!!! Henne, Wake, S. Smith, V. Davis, Long and bunch of other young guys i could put on the list.smileys with beer

who was activated in place of Porter??? Was it Turner?? Another LB??? Why not just bench him and at least have him available in case of injury... roth and crowder aren't exactly the healthiest of players around..

Sends a bigger impact and message when you leave a guy inactive

SO with Anderson's performance, do you guys see Porter sitting more than just the bucs game? It seemed that Anderson was on fire in the first half.

If I am the coach I let Porter sit another week. Not because I think he's done or can't play anymore but because it gives him more time to heal up...then I'd make it clear that despite tenure, pedegree or whatever, the best players (read most productive) play each week...if that leaves Porter as the odd man out then so be it...even though I'd still rotate him into games now and then.

Players would either step up or sit down...their choice.

Porter has 21 tackles in his last 12 games going back to last season. That includes 2 games (KC last year and NE this year) where he had no tackles whatsoever. That is incredibly unproductive for a starting LB. If his knee and hamstring injuries are reducing his effectiveness right now, then he should sit. He has been virtually invisible for awhile now. Anderson, who was sharing snaps with Wake and Roth, had 5 tackles, a sack, and 2 forced fumbles. He was a lot more active than Porter has been all season. He should be playing right now.

If Porter was benched for being out partying Friday night as has been rumored, this is probably not going to end well. I don't imagine Porter will take the benching too well.
