Thing is, Turner isn't known for his open-field running, and he isn't a threat to throw the ball either. Opposing defenses wouldn't really know exactly how to defend White if he lined up as a WR.
Didn't vote yet...awaiting some add'l commentary before I make up my mind.
However, initially I don't see what he brings to the table at WR that is so incredible vs. what we're putting on the field. He did fine at running the option and perhaps I'm not giving him enough credit for the 33-yard run. His other 5 runs went for 12 yards.
What we appear to be missing is the WR who can go up for a catch, fearlessly use/sacrifice his body and much more often than not win the battle with the DB. Pat White doesn't remind me of Larry Fitzgerald in any way.
What I'd like to see is White connect on a long bomb to Ginn...or throw a nice 10-12 yard pass to a TE
He doesn't have to be a #1 WR. In fact, he can play the slot instead of Bess (who's been having trouble holding on to the ball). My logic goes like this:
1. Having a WR that thinks like a QB can be invaluable. Remember Jim Jensen? He always found a way to get open, and he always seemed to know where Dan was going to throw it.
2. Henning loves trick plays. Imagine what we could to if we had 2 guys that could throw strikes down the field. If Henne hands the ball off, or laterals it, to White, then White can throw it or run for it.
3. Pat would probably be fantastic in YAC. His runs on Sunday just gave us a taste of that.
I just wonder if all the personnel changes going from a standard set to a wildcat to a spread offense are disrupting our momentum. If we can reduce the personnel changes we can keep the opposing defense on its heels.

I agree to the minimizing of personel changes and to having ronnie, rickey, pat and chad all on the field. But i dont think White is the answer to our WR problems. We need to see Turner in a game!

Welker had no problem getting hit. White got hit plenty in college. I don't think size matters in this case
Stop it... I would put ginn as qb in the spread offense before I move white to wr? why? it is retarded, he probably has played qb his entire life and now you want to move him to wr? do you really think he will get open against the NFL corners? stop it...
And speed does not mean he can catch the ball, we have seen this all year.. Look at Ginn all the speed in the world, makes a catch here and there but has a bunch of drops....
You are right A&O the problem with your statement is we where talking Pt White at WR assuming it was due to the fact he has speed, not that he is slow thats why the comparison to Ginn Not Bess...
Well I was pointing out the fact that it really doesnt matter who we have at WR, none of them are above average, they are not costing us games, but they sure arent really helping out our offense either.
..and Reppa is right, Pat White would probably look like a fish out of water considering WR is a position he has never even thought of playing. He has been a QB since 5 years old.
The WR's are not cnosting us games??? Yes they are all those drops by all the WR's and teams showing no respect for em and crowding the box to stop the run. So many 3 and outs or short O series Tire out a already not great D that costs games... It is not one WR's fault it all of em combined with other problems... But if you took the Best set of WR's in the NFL and put em on this team even with all the other problems, I say we would have maybe one loss... we been in every game with a WR group that drops the ball...
Like I said Scored???? Or Given UP read the question I asked smart guy... So are you saying we are fine on offense??? Yea your right we got all we need..........NOT!!!!!!!!
24 Points a game is plenty enough points to win in this league. If your defense gives up 25 points a game. You are not gonna win in this league. BOTTOM LINE!
