Porter and JT are DONE!! They are finished as NFL football players.

I have no idea why Wake isn't on the field. I mean Chris Clemons has finally found playing time. It can't take much more of these old and washed up OLB's doing nothing before we throw Wake out there

he might not be better. but we know he is faster. And at this point I will take the rookie mistakes. Porter and JT do nothing, what can Wake do.....nothing as well. Let's roll the dice on Wake

I didnt say all that. JT can still go as he has shown, but porter is TERRIBLE against the run and has been shut down for the most part this season. Wake is a nice change of pace. a pure speed rusher like Freeney

JT can't still go. He's got nothing.

And please don't compare Wake to a hall of fame player like Freeney. Thank you

I meant style wise. He is like Freeney. Pure speed
Taylor has 20 tackles 5.5 sacks 2 FF and a TD

Wake just his hands on Brady on one of the two plyas he was in.

20 tackles for a starting OLB through 7 games isn't anything to brag about

WAKE with a sack finally!

Porter should be released. Seriously. He was a huge liability against the run last year. This year, without any pass rush from him, he's a useless player.

Our lack of pass rush just kills our secondary. It's not the sacks, it's that we don't collapse the pocket and hurry the QB at all. They have all day to stand in a perfect pocket and make terrific throws. It's like practice for them.

I saw Porter Visibily WINDED before the second half arrived. He's in bad shape and needs to be replaced, or at least rotated out on 2nd and 3rd downs.

Porter was a terrible signing for this team from the moment they made it. When you think about how bad the GM'ing has been since JJ left it is really amazing they can even compete these past two years.

JJ was a bad GM as well. Maybe worse. Why he gets a free pass for his time in Miami I will never understand

Why is it bad Gming that we have great young players and are still building our franchise?

WHAT? BAd GM?

He was ppor at picking offense, I'll give you that; but, he drafted Zach Thomas, Jason Taylor, Sam Madison and Patrick Surtain. Those guys respectively are arguably the best to ever play their respective position.

Bad GM? I don't think so.

Just because he made a few good draft picks, it doesn't make him a good GM. JJ blew a lot of high picks, and he's the guy that really started us on our downward talent spiral by wasting so many picks. And how about that Fred Barnett signing? And keeping Keith Sims while letting Irving Fryar, Marco Coleman, Troy Vincent, and Bryan Cox leave?

I believe you build your team in the first 4 rounds of the draft. And JJ was awful at this. He missed so many of these picks that it killed us. And what made it even worse was that he was often trading down to draft these crappy players.

1996
Traded down to draft 3rd rd pick CB Dorian Brew, who never made the team.
Traded down to draft 4th rd CB Kirk Pointer, who never made the team
Traded down to draft 4th rd LB LaCurtis Jones, who never made the team

1997
1st rd pick, WR Yatil Green, a player with a long history of injuries in college
3rd rd pick, LB Ronnie Ward, never made any impact
3rd rd pick, OT Brent Smith, never made any impact
Traded down to draft 4th rd G Jerome Daniels, never made team

1998
Traded down in the 1st round to pick RB John Avery, who was good in the XFL.
Traded down to pick 3rd rd LB Brad Jackson, who never made the team
3rd rd pick, WR Larry Shannon, who JJ called as good as Randy Moss but without the baggage, never caught a pass

1999
Traded down (twice) out of the first round to draft RB JJ Johnson

sorry, I meant for the Dolphins. Best to play their position for the Dolphins.

I am not glossing over the bad offensive picks. But when you say 'bad GMing' that is an over-all judgement. A guy that is a defensive talent genius isn't 'BAD' just because he is less effective with offense.

Dave Wannestedt, Nick Saban, Rick Speilman added who?

I wouldn't put JJ up with Bill Polian or Bill Parcells....but calling him a 'BAD' GM is an over-statement.

You can't ignore the fact that he converted a 'few' picks into LOTS of picks, some of which he missed on and some of which yielded extremely valuable picks.

Like I said to Mike, I wouldn't put him up with Polian or Parcells, but I think 'Bad' is an over-statement.

Take 1996 for example, though.

1st rd- DT Daryl Gardner
2nd rd- traded down twice, from #49 to #60 to #79
3rd rd- CB Dorian Brew, never made the team
3rd rd- RB Karim Abdul Jabaar
4th rd- traded down twice
4th rd- CB Kirk Pointer, never made the team
4th rd- FB Stanley Pritchett
4th rd- LB LaCurtis Jones, never made the team

Imagine what we'd think about Jeff Ireland if he had 6 picks in the first 4 rounds, and 3 of them didn't even make the team. JJ got a free pass at the time because he was the new shiny thing who was going to lead us to the Super Bowl. But, that's awful. In the 5th and 6th rounds, he got DT Shane Burton, LB Zach Thomas, and S Shawn Wooden, and they all contributed, with Zach being an all time great. That's good, but it doesn't make up for the 3 totally wasted higher picks, not to mention the talent that was passed up in the trade downs.
