so I'm inspired after tonight's win and just bought 2 tix to see the phins at pats on 11/8 in Gilette stadium. (way overpaid for them but you only live once.)
anyone ever been to that stadium? any tips--do I need a parking pass or is there parking elsewhere? how's the tailgating scene? how long is the drive from Boston on gameday? any recommendations of where to go out in Boston? I used to live there but it's been about 10 years since I moved....so any advice would be much appreciated!!
The MBTA is a good idea. It's a pain to get out of Foxboro and even more so if your headed to eat towards Boston. (I go west) It's defiantely not as easy go to Dolphin Stadium.
Their is parking at the Stadium. I have always just paid at the lot.

Boston sports events aren't like Miami's. Most of the time they are sold out, so you end up paying a premium for tickets, so don't feel bad.
about $400 a ticket on stub hub for club level seats--but that was like 1/2 of what every other similar ticket cost, so while I feel ripped off, it could have been worse. And hey, you only live once! And if we win that game, it will be so worth it just to see all the Patsies fans crying in their beer!!
The MBTA train is a good deal and headache free. Yes it's a special train running along the commuter rail lines, scheduled for sports fans. However they only run one or two of them ( I think it used to be only one back when the Pats sucked and they couldn't fill the old stadium next door). Pay attention to the schedule and you'll be fine.
The new stadium is supposed to be beautiful (but I haven't been). They also built a shopping and dining complex adjacent to it "Patriot Place" which I guess is a way to kill time for people who show up early to get a parking space, and stay late to wait out the traffic.
I personally would rather take the Train back to Boston and celebrate in town, rather than spend more time/money at someplace called Patriot Place!
Good luck and may we embarrass the Pats thus making your trip $ worth the while.
Have fun, I used to live close to the stadium, and went to the fins game every year... The Fans are awful... I am a respectful fan in other stadiums, I don't get loud and try not to aggravate the home team fans, but I have been punched kicked and had beer poured on me in that place.. I am so glad I am a Dolphins season ticket holder and live down here now so I can enjoy my team... The train is a good option, just be reminded that you will be with a bunch of drunk pats fans on the way back to Boston... Driving into the stadium has gotten a bit better then it used to be, as well as the parking has improved..Don't have to have parking pass, cash lots available... Just remember Dress warm... especially if you are going to tailgate... Boston is a great city to party plenty of great food.... I Miss the Seafood.....
