Have you tried Razadyne, Exelon, Aricept, Cognex, or Namenda? Just kidding of course. Seriously, though, that is pretty cool. I have said it before, but I don't remember the day I became a Dolphan. I just always was one. I know the reason though. My brother, who is 12 years older than me, is Howard Twilley(not the same one) and for obvious reasons, as a teen, he loved the Phins. I guess I just learned to love the same team as my brother. The first game I recall, albeit faintly, was the Super Bowl that completed the undefeated season. I remember getting Dolphin shoes for my 5th birthday from my brother, then stepping in shit playing ghost in the graveyard at my birthday party. My parents couldn't make me go to sleep during Monday Night Dolphin games. I threw the worst of temper tantrums. Absolutely violent. They caved and I never missed a televised game. I can't remember a day that my happiness wasn't dictated by the wins and losses of the Dolphins. Maybe I should try Elavil, Paxil, Prozac, Wellbutrin, or Zoloft.
I know alot of coaches can and are paid alot of money and sometimes are wrong. But, you can make the case Bill Parcells is not one of them. He is arguably the greatest football mind in the history of the sport. Hold on, I said a jey word there *arguably*. That means not everyone agrees he is. But you get my point. He is a football genius. I will make an argument that he is not wrong....hardly ever.
Well, first of all, the game at the Oakland Coliseum could have been my Junior year 68-69 instead of my sophomore (first year at Cal), that's why I equivocated. But I do remember being at the game. I wasn't "tripping" as they would have said at Berkeley at the time nor on one of the pharmaceuticals prevalent on the campus at that time none of which are mentioned by you.
As for the name Boilermakers, and it being the guy who stoked the engine on the train, I knew someone would google and doublecheck but that's the legend that was by mouth on campus.
Moreover, we always had, as a secondary mascot, a big cardboard train. Additionally, when we score a touchdown at Ross Ade Stadium, a train whistle blows. Although we are an engineering school, I never heard that the term had anything to do with the science lab.
A & O, I respect Bill Parcells a great deal also and think he is one of the finest minds in football if not "The." It is a tribute to his ability that we went from 1 and 15 to winning the division at 10-5 (now watch someone call me on my memory again.)
In my opinion, Bill Parcells is the greatest football mind in history. He doesnt have the rings others do, but he didnt have the players other coaches had either. But again, its an arguable subject, Lombardi, Shula....etc. All these guys are in the discussion. But, its just my opinion that Parcells in numero uno.
i know were splitting hairs here. I just feel you cant put Billicheck up there he BOOOOOMBED in Cleveland. None of the top guys have *ever* bombed any where they have ever been. Mike is just a closet Pats fan, Ghotirule called him out on it plenty of times.
I just feel Parcells is the only one of those guys that can coach in any era. He could have coached 100 years ago and I think he could coach 100 years from now. in my opinion....thats what seperates him.
dont get me wrong phinsfan, Shula is #2 or 3 in my book. like I said, were splitting hairs here.

One thing to note about that list, in today's NFL with free agency and high salaries, I don't think the guys at 1-5 would do as well. That's what sets Parcells apart when it comes to running a team.

Oh here we go.......now I'm a closet Pats fan because Shula isn't in my Top 6.....you gotta be kidding? It never ends with you A&O. Grow up Thunder Jr.!!
Shula lost as a HUGE favorite vs the Jets in Super Bowl 3. Shula's Colts were a 17 point favorite and LOST THE GAME to a crappy Jets team. Combine that with the fact that the final 10 years of his career he never reached a Super Bowl and never WON one the final 20 years of his career!!!!!! Not to mention Shula's LAST road playoff win happened in 1972!!!!!!! That isn't a sign of a Top 5 or 6 coach ever! Sorry

Come on Mike, every top tier, all time coach has turned *EVERY* team they have ever coached into a contender. Bill Bellicheck has not.
Its pretty funny that when Bill Bellicheck starts losing personnel people his team starts losing. I think alot of Billichecks credit should be given to Scott Pioli and a couple other guys.
Thats just my opinion. Dont get me wrong, I think he is a good if not great coach, just not top 5.....and maybe not even top 10. With out his 3 or 4 year run we're not even talking about him as a great coach.
Parcells, Shula, Lombardi, Knox and all those other guys had decades of winning teams. Every where they went their teams were turned into legitimate title contenders.
I garauntee there is a scout or some personnel guy behind the drafting of Tom Brady and without Brady the Patsies would have never even won 1 superbowel. Not one. I can almost bet the farm Billicheat was not behind that pick.
Dick Raybine was behind the Brady pick. He was the QB coach of the Pats and pushed for Brady that entire draft. It's a legendary story I am sure you even as a casual NFL fan has heard the story behind that pick??!!! It's only been told 1,000 times!! Then after Raybine died the Pats took 2 years to replace him and hire a new QB coach.
You can knock Belichick all you want. Bottom line is he won without Parcells. Parcells NEVER won without Belichick. That's a fact.

So what? And Vince Lombardi was the coach of the Redskins and he sucked there. Your point?? It doesn't take away from all the championships he won in GB.
1. This is a discussion board, and that includes all the players, how the players are used, the schemes, the calls, the coaches, the rules and the refs. Unless someone is personally attacking a player (which no one has), and only being critical of their play, then it will be on this board.
2. No coach is god, and all coaches think they're going to the superbowl every year. Coaches are limited by salary cap, by contracts, and many other things, and all they're doing is making the best gestimate of a player's talent and who would fit on their team and be affordable.
3. If you don't want to hear about Ginn, then join a Buffalo discussion board, because any discussion board on the Dolphins will include many threads on Ginn, because he is our #1 wr.
Noll and Nox are pretty close Mike. You are definately on your mission to get me kicked outta here, huh!?
You got rid of Ghotirule, Thunder got rid of himself, you want me next....then your plan to get Curt to change the name of his site to MikeO.com will be in place, right!?
