Too early to hope for Tim Tebow?

At 0-2, I know it is way too early to be hoping for a bad enough season to get the top draft pick again. But man, how we need to draft Tebow!
Pennington and that game proved what I had been saying about not having a passionate leader of a QB. He played okay and was very accurate most of the night, but he has little arm strength for the long play and more importanly shows terrible leadership. There was no excuse for him not to immediately call the final time out as soon as he was sacked but let precious seconds tick away. And when he finally did call the time out, his "oh crap I think we are going to lose" expression foretold the outcome. Marino would have jumped all over Ginn for the drops earlier in the game and would have acted like he gives a damn about winning! Where is the passion? Where is the leadership? I want to see our QB get fired up mad at poor play!!
We also showed we still need ALOT on the defensive side of the ball. The Colts remind me of the Dolpins back when they had Marino. Can score quickly, almost too quickly for their own defense's good, yet they are always a danger of out-scoring their opponent. And this game is ultimately more about scoring points than preventing points. That game was a great example what I have been saying all along about the kind of QB we should be going after. Pennington is not the answer, short-term or long-term. Maybe the Dolphins will eventually figure this out the next time they have the oppotunity to gamble on a potential franchise quarterback. Tim Tebow?
Here we go again...
That's exacly what many were saying about Matt Ryan. Lucky if he makes it? Must be a Vol fan or something...he will be the top pick.
I think we need to see if Chad Henne is the long-term answer first. If we lose to San Diego, our chances of making the playoffs will be next to nil. If that is the case, we should start Henne and some of the other players we drafted this year and begin the evaluation process for next season. This will allow us to start developing our latest draft choices and plan for next year's draft.

Shula used to draft a QB just about every other year. Of course, they were in later rounds, but we DID end up with Scott Mitchell who was effective subbing for Marino. Drafting QB's is 50% science and 50% luck.
To your point, 2nd round QBs should be better than these 3 have shown.
Tebow probably won't make the NFL cut, however the guy from OU is pretty good. We are talking about drafting a QB when our future QB has not played yet? We need WR's and LB's in next years draft. Among other things but I think those are two pressing needs right now.
If, and I do mean IF, we have to #1 pick again this year it has to be a DT or a WR.
We have two guys on the roster right now that we know very little about (Henne and White) if we lose to San Diego and Buffalo making us 0-4 my thoughts are that we play Henne the rest of the season and see what he has.
Either way we will need to replace Ferguson and we need a big, fast, physical and reliable WR to elevate the offense.
QB can, and should, once again wait until the second round.

I think rebuilding this defense is going to be priority one next draft, monday's game shows us that, not having a elite qb, yeah will hurt you when your down in points, but also that a soid defense would have won us that game. Defense we need to adress Lber's next year, get a bunch of em, and safties too. Another center would be nice, and two more wr's in later rounds.

I still think we're ok at OLB. We DO need help at ILB. As for safety, I'd like to see Clemons play this year to see how he does in place of Wilson. Bell is fine.
So, I think the priority should be ILB, TE, and, possibly, Center!
I like Anderson, and Wake, and Roth, but i would trade Porter now for anything, he is clearly done. Taylor isnt much better, so let him retire after this year. Hell i know damn well the Pats would give a second round for Porter!!!

If they'll give a 2nd, trade him NOW!!!
