You can tell the Marlins are really leaving

You can tell the Marlins are leaving Dolphins Stadium and the Miami Dolphins financial status is in big trobule down the road. So much so that, Stephen Ross and the city of Miami today filed official paperwork with the WWE to bring WrestleMania to Dolphins Stadium in 2011 or 2012.

Miami is expected to lose both bids. Indy in 2011 and Toronto in 2012. It would bring $50 mill to the city over 5-days and a lot of bucks to the Dolphins Stadium and the Fins. Yet, Having to get in bed with a scum-bag like McMahon is really selling your soul to the devil!!! And Ross's financial problems must be bigger than I even thought

When the Dolphins lose the gate for those 81 home Marlins games and IF Jerry Jones, Robert Kraft, Daniel Synder get their way and STOP REVENUE SHARING, the Dolphins payroll will take a huge hit and the NFL will be MLB!! Big boys vs the little guys and Miami is a little guy!

Stephen Ross's net worth is presently almost $3.4 billion. This is based upon his interests in a slumping and down real estate market. As the economy picks up, so will his net worth. I really don't think that we should be worrying about the Dolphin's financial state, as his net worth is more than both Kraft's and Jones combined!

I don't see the NFL ever heading down the same path as MLB, if they did...teams like Green Bay, Jacksonville, Cincinatti, K.C, etc....would not survive. Presently the teams make enough money just from TV revenues to run viable businesses. I think that the majority of owners prefer to sustain this market and will overrule the greedy ones in Dallas
and L.A.

We had Huzeinga for many years, with NOTHING to show for it...let's give this guy the benefit of doubt and hope to see all the minority owners on the podium accepting the Lombardi Trophy together.

if you think an owner (any owner) is going to dip into his PERSONAL SAVINGS to run a football team you don't understand how professional sports work in this country.

No owner in any sport dips into his personal savings to run their team.

And if you don't think the NFL is heading down that path, look at the Jerry Jones quote from last weekend where he got fined $100,000!!! Ever see an owner get fined $100,000??? NOPE. Know why he did?? BEcause he tipped off the owners strategy in the upcoming talks. The Owners want out of this agreement and the big boys in the NFL (and there are a lot of them) are going to throw the little boys (about 5 teams) under the bus.

Who cares, i mean seriously oh well, my team will be here, and if not i can do other things than worry about football. I did just fine not watching my blue jays play when MLB went on strike.

The marlins leaving is not a good thing for the Dolphins bottom line and their books. When we are letting good players leave via free agency in a couple years and not re-signing them...then you will realize the effect it has on this franchise. It's gonna happen. Losing 81 gates at that stadium is impossible to replace.

Especially if the new CBA includes no salary cap and no salary floor which looks likes which will happen.

YEA..no infield dirt. BOOO....our team is cheap and doesn't sign any players. It's a double edged sword. BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR!!!!!

my impression is that the marlins didn't really bring any money to the stadium anyway. i mean, i think the only way it'd be filled halfway to capacity during a marlins game is if the yankees came to town. regardless, this ross fella seems like he's into stabilizing things... even if it means selling our souls to jimmy buffet and the williams sisters.

and hey, after that outburst she had i don't think i'd be against throwing venus a 1-year deal. if she gets like that after one call against her even when she admitted the call was correct, can you imagine what she'd do to NFL refs? talk about wrestlemania....

And that about sums up the Marlins, doesn't it. Losing 81 games at that stadium. I'm sure they win one or two though.
