Sounds like the coaches aren't too optimistic that Merling has what it takes to develop into a full time starter.

Looks like Starks is going to get the job unless Merling changes his ways.

I heard Bokamper say the same thing....Merling finished the year on a very strong note but is being outshone in camp.

If the season started tomorrow Starks and Langford will be your starting DE's.

McDaniel has a shot to beat out Starks though. Also listening to Jeff Ireleand on SIRIUS yesterday was interesting to hear him say Starks might be the backup DT and get reps there before Solai would.
