Date: August 12, 2009 07:24PM Well I guess Sporano is telling lies because he said he was drafted to compete at QB. He is our 3rd string QB so he is going to have to learn to drop back. That's what he is doing in practice. I doubt they are wasting practice reps with him working at QB just as a deception.
Sure the coaches may try to mislead everyone but I really don't see them drafting him that high just to run a few plays a game in the WC. The plan was to bring Pennington in for two years to run the offense while Henne develops. Sparano did speak of identifying what he does well and use just those plays as a package for him. Ultimately they would like him to develope him into a well-rounded quarterback, but, in the meantime, he will have a small set of plays especially chosen for his skill set.
