Pete is long in the tooth. I would like to see either Thomas or Murphy earn the spot.

Yes i know he is old but just in case. IMO the OL position is played at a higher level longer than any other positions.

Just like Jon Runyan!

I saw clips of the philadelphia playoff game yeasterday and he was hussling around the field and even recovered a fumble. All hustle.

The guy is old but still has some fire.

I would mind them bringing in either runyan or kendall for insurance. Im sure they are better than Andy Alleman to name one.

Surprising... but having a cagey vet to offer some tips to the young guards is not a bad thing.

It should be noted that he is more of a LG and may be a backup option for the fragile Smiley. He is 6'6 286.

Kendall has been a quality and durable guard for a long time. He has not missed a start in Washington. This is a quote I found on him...

"He played so well the first half of last season as the Redskins got off to a 6-2 start that there was talk of him being a Pro Bowl selection."

He did open some nice holes for Clinton Portis.

The Redskins just didn't have the cap space (imagine that) to keep him at 36 years old but I'm sure he still has something in the tank.

At 36 he needs to accept a contract that offers him a chance to compete for the starting job, with the more likely role of back-up.

He was healthy all last year, so he certainly will have something left in the tank; and , he will feel he has something to prove.

sign him.

One thing i've noticed is, to play offensive line for parcells and sparano you must be over 300 pounds.

I just noticed all our OLmen are over 300 LBS.

Guards
57 Andy Alleman C 6-4 310 2010 3 Akron
60 Mark Lewis G 6-3 305 R Oregon
61 Shawn Murphy G 6-4 320 2011 2 Utah State
64 Jake Grove C 6-4 300 2013 7 Virginia Tech
65 Justin Smiley G 6-3 311 2012 6 Alabama
66 Donald Thomas G 6-3 303 2011 2 Connecticutt
67 Joe Berger G 6-5 315 2011 6 Michigan Tech
X 68 Ikechuku Ndukwe OL 6-4 338 3 Northwestern

Offensive Tackle:

63 Andrew Gardner T 6-7 304 2012 R Georgia Tech
72 Vernon Carey T 6-4 333 2014 6 Miami (Fla.)
73 SirVincent Rogers T 6-4 310 R Houston
75 Nate Garner T 6-7 320 2010 2 Arkansas

He is old. But I always say the best way for a team to win is to get a bunch of OLD GUYS WHO ARE SICK OF LOSING!!!!!

And if there is a position where age means less, its o-line. I'm not totally against this move if it happens

Seau is a LB. We are talking about the Oline.

Players on the oline seem to play longer into their careers than any other position.

You are right, kickers last a longtime in this league.

Word is Murphy has the job by default. That he is the best of a bad bunch. That Murphy has the job because everyone else stinks and not because Murphy is doing anything great.

That is why the Fins are looking at Kendall and other options at guard.

WQAM had this story today
