I'm sure he meant to word it that way. If he wanted to be objective he could have said they had the same W-L record as the Divisional Champions but came in second on the tiebreaker, and failed to make the wild card.
I think it's Vick's most likely destination. They took on Moss and Dillon and got all the benefit with none of the headaches (in general). Brady's entrenched as starter, so there'd be no starting QB controversy. Plus, Belicheat and Goodell are apparently brothers from another mother, so I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Goodell's treatment of Vick might differ based upon the team where he lands.
Sucks to admit it, but Vick would probably help their offense be even more prolific.

It would also give other players even more reason to hate them. Remember when Jim McMahon was body slammed by Charles Martin? The Bears, and particularly McMahon, were known for their arrogance. That lead to a play that, basically, ended McMahon's career. If NE keeps it up their team will look like a MASH unit.
