This is a moderated phorum for the CIVILIZED discussion of the Miami Dolphins. In this phorum, there are rules and moderators to make sure you abide by the rules. The moderators for this phorum are JC and Colonel.
Does anybody know if Mike Vrabel is still on the street?
I have been watching this game since 1962, and I cannot think of another team in all that time that looks as bad as this team does since about the last quarter of last year- I'd MUCH rather have Brian Flores, and I don't think he's a particularly good head coach, but at least they played hard for him- for this guy, they play poor football in every phase of the game and make poor decisions while playing anything BUT hard.
Gentlemen, this team has not even been competitive since last year. I cannot believe and I don't believe I have ever seen a Miami Dolphins team that isn't even competitive, and it is making me ill.
This is so bad that I think we need to make some changes. What changes are to be made, I will leave to you guys.

The blunders with HC selection continues. The blunders with fielding a mediocre O-line continues. Thinking Tua, a nice guy for sure, but who was damaged goods from the get go, would be the QB of the future and could carry the team to success for years to come was a foolish, I hope he can, major blunder by Grier and Ross.
McDaniel is, simply over his head as a HC. His sideline behavior, weak, muttering post game interviews are embarrassing. He is not a good leader.
Now, 1-3 with little hope for a turn around in offensive play--the season is going to be tough for fans and players to endure. Sad!
I have been patient w/ the owner and front office long enough. They all have to go. We need an owner that knows football. Grier has gotta go. McDaniel's gotta go. These guys just don't learn from their mistakes. Playing musical chairs w/ the oline in practice, bringing in player's w/ injury histories, seeing the backup qbs inability to run the O in preseason and keep them and more.
Defensive coordinators know McDaniel's script for the 1st quarter and they are throwing it in his face. They are so on him and he cannot make the adjustments. Sad thing is I still do not believe there is another coach that knows this offense well enough to call the plays.
Robert Jones is a good guard to come off the bench but he is not a starter. We miss Hunt, Jones cannot blow his man off the line and that is why we are not gaining yards. Wynn is better but again a player w/ an injury history. I stopped watching the game in the 2nd quarter. I have seen enough football at my age to know when a crap storm is coming. When your D gifts you a fumble and you give the ball back that is a bad sign. I got sick of Hill real quick on last night. He should have known that play was a backwards pass when it was called. He knew he had a new qb and should have made a better effort to make that catch. He should have made a better effort to get the ball out of bounds or get on top of it.
I use this at work for younger guys that come to work for me.......... "If you keep making the same mistakes over and over there are only two reasons.......either you're stupid or you don't give a fk, which is it?"
Same question should be phrased McDickbag and Grier.
Total Bad News Bear play last night to include coaching
The only way to fix this mess (aside from Stephen Ross selling the team to an owner who isn't clueless) is to fire Chris Grier and let the new GM decide on the coaching staff. Grier has been an abject failure as GM. He's had total control of football operations since 2016. In eight years, he hasn't been able to field a team that had a realistic championship roster. His drafts have been at times average but more often than not, abysmal. It's early, I know, but Chop Robinson seems to be starting his career much like another first round pass rusher Grier pick--Charles "No sacks" Harris. Although lately he hasn't had many first round picks due to trades, the picks he's made have been terrible. Channing Tindell and Cam Smith for example. Two busts. Nothing, however, even comes close to his incompetence with building an offensive line. Austin Jackson was a first round pick. Fans were happy last year because he went from bust to serviceable. From what I've seen this year, he's reverted back to bust. However, the play of Robert Jones makes Jackson look like an all-pro. He frigging traded up to take Eichenberg. He signs Armstead in free agency having to know that Armstead never stays healthy and will miss a major portion of every season.
Perhaps what pisses me off the most is the arrogance Grier exhibited when reporters covering the team asked him legitimate questions about whether the line would be good enough. He laughed it off as if to say, I know so much more than you...The reality is that the one constant since 2016 and the failings of the team is Grier. I have no doubt Ross won't fire him. Ross is loyal to a fault even if it means the team suffers. I'm just glad we lucked our way to a win against Jacksonville. I'm looking at this team and how they've performed the last three weeks and I can't see another win. I guess the only silver lining is that we might end up with the number one overall pick in next year's draft. The bad news is that Grier likely won't be fired and will draft a corner back who won't ever see the field.

I like it! Sometimes you got to just lay it all at there......I think they are stupid / ignorant myself. We have been screaming about the Oline since Tannehill was a rookie! First thing Bill parcells did when he became head coach was pick a 1st round Olineman Jake Long in 08' . Then Pouncy in 11' . Greer doesnt respect the game. He loves stats, speed, Hes the dumb mother fer who loves to show up to the drag strip in a fancy Million $$ McClaren only to get beaten by the 17 yr old in a POS Mustang with a turbo......
Every year this team is like that hot girlfriend that leaves and you keep bringing her back because she's hot thinking it will be different....and it isn't.

I don’t recall parcels being our head coach but rather a ‘consultant’ who was free to leave whenever he wanted. And he did—I didn’t blame him. Actually would have preferred if he were our coach. But he was too smart to take the job I guess.
He was in charge of getting the Groceries for sure. Then he hired Saprano to cook it. We all know how that turned out but the point is.....his first ingredient was an Olineman. OT DT .....the trenches. Tennessee did just fine with a rookie QB , he had enough time to rub one out before throwing.
Whoa, guys! Look, the reality is that at this point in the season we aren't going to be making any major changes, and very few minor ones. The truth is, they have been playing with no cohesion and little emotion. But...they have a wealth of talent and currently they aren't playing up to their talent. However, things change, sometimes very quickly in this league. Seriously, its not like we are out of it, a 1-3 record certainly isn't enviable, but it seems to me that we lost 7 in a row a few years ago and we still made the playoffs. So, a lousy first month to the season, but this merry-go-round doesn't stop for a while so this team has to shrug it off and get their sh_t together.
Remember: Win the fourth quarter!-you will probably win the game.
I don't have the faith this season and it started last season. McDaniels is a failing coach and his style is not what this team needs to compete against solid squads and coaches.
He is not a leader but more like a great neighbor that always has beer and nothing planned.
Mcd-bag is the issue along with Grier, and this team will not change until they're gone.
My biggest fear in all of this debacle is that at some point Tua will come back and maybe start winning a few games and then the "we will be better next year" mantra will start.
Instead of a top first round pick to get a good/durable QB, we will be middle of the pack, maybe pick a OLine that is serviceable and go into next year fat, dumb and happy.
I guess that I am ready for Tua to become the placeholder for a new QB to learn while he finishes out his contract or is able to be let go. I am also ready for the coach to instill some toughness into the players instead of just be buddies. Finally, I am ready for a front office that hits more than it misses and have a focus on the Oline and Dline. I guess I am just ready for the incompetence to be over and have a team worth paying the 300 bucks a year for NFL Sunday Ticket to watch.
