If they think this defense will be the same without Wilkins they better think again. None of the other dt scrubs they have there is as good good as Wilkins.
Players like pili had a couple of good stops against backup dline. That's it.
Don't mess this up and resign Wilkins.
Go phins.

I like Christian a lot and think he contributes more than just the stats we see. Infectious energy, leadership...I think he even kicked Josh Allen in the goods at one point, which has got to be worth a couple million clams :-).
That said, my guess is that if he were agreeable to a contract in the range of $17-$18M/yr this would be a done deal already. My understanding is that he's seeking more like $21M+. So, I'd further guess that since they're seemingly that far apart, they want to see how he performs this year in Fangio's defense on the 5th year.
Wow - I hadn't heard that. If that's the case, it would put him ahead of everyone not named Aaron Donald. $24.5M/yr is even more than I thought he was asking for and it apparently doesn't meet his asking price.
"dt scrubs" are you nuts? Zack Seiler is AT LEAST as good as Wilkins, he's the most underpaid guy on that team, even after getting a raise. They more than tripled his salary, and he's still underpaid. Wilkins isn't going to get what he is asking, just because his sack numbers aren't up to par with the highest-paid DTs. He does much more than that, but this league is analytics-driven these days, and his analytics in this one area aren't up to others. Ridiculous, because what he does in other areas, like tackles, are much better than other, higher-paid DTs.
