Rex Ryan is dumb.

First of all, he is getting into a war of words with Channing Crowder.
A coach vs a player.
Who does that?
Secondly, Ryan has been going on and on about his preparation for the season. Then in the next breathe he says, "who's this Channing Crowder?"
The starting middle linebacker for one of your fiercest rivals you dim-wit.
If Ryan really doesn't know who Crowder is (I doubt this) then the Jets should be a nice easy two wins for us this season. Otherwise Ryan is a liar, and a bad one at that.
Who remembers the amount of talking Buddy Ryan did when he took over the Eagles? He talked a lot.
Who remembers how the Eagles did under Buddy Ryan? Barely over .500, never winning a playoff game, in a division that - at the time - only had Washington as a rival.
This guy has to deal with us, the Patriots, and the TO Bills who always play the Jets tough. Good luck.
ESPN NFL LIVE crew did take Channing's side when the story of the Ryan-Channing war of words came up.
And Rex is a moron no doubt, but he will at least keep things interesting. The NFL needs more guys like Rex. Instead of the same ole boring coach talk he isn't affraid to open up and say what he feels. It keeps everyone on their toes and helps the time go by, gotta give him that.

Yeah, it's certainly entertaining for fans of other teams. Not sure how NYJ fans will like it once they start losing on a consistent basis.
this isn't some high school league where you can 'get in their heads'.
NFL teams have pschologist, advisors, personality 'managers'. Crowder is going to be motivated to play lights out, and the team will ensure he isn't 'too tight'. What is Ryan the Head Coach going to do? tell his OC to call some great plays designed to expose Crowder? really? What if the blows up?
Crowder is in a better position to 'throw punches' than Ryan is. Crowder will be on the field; Ryan won't be.
Also, it is easier for the Dolphins players to embarrass Ryan by winning the game, than it is for the Jets to embarrass Crowder. We win the game, Crowder wins. If the Jets' win the game, Ryan doesn't win his battle against Crowder unless his offense makes 1 guy look bad. Are they really going to spend time game planning against Channing Crowder?
wow, Ryan probrabbly will. Wouldn't it be great if the Jets are obvious in their attempts to expose crowder...and it fails...and they lose? Wouldn't that be awesome!?
