The NFL season is here!! Game not until this afternoon (4PM). Going to start the smoker at 1PM.
Colonel made a great point I'd forgotten about......This was Flores old team. Belichick will have something up his sleeve. But I don't think he has what it takes to beat this defense. I see at least 1 INT for the rookie.
Basically BOTH QBs are rookies. Tua has never played in Foxborough and has never played in a full stadium in the NFL. I'll watch the Buff game while I'm waiting for the real action. Go Phins.

You guys are KILLING me. Another great point I never really thought about. Hes got way more pressure on him then any other QB in the NFL at this point. Belichick will be in full cheater mode.......locker rooms bugged. But Flores should know every one of his tricks.
Applying a ruse is important when opponents know each other well. They will do it to one another to try and gain an advantage. This amounts to misdirection, play action, showing that the play is going deep and doing just the opposite. Which team can better execute deception will gain an advantage. It could mean big plays offensively and defensively.
I am looking forward to the chess game between teacher and student.
I'm flipping back and forth between the other games and, so far, the other rookie QBs are not really lighting the world on fire.
Both of them have their first NFL touchdowns.

I am confused. The last half minute of the half baffles me.
The first possession by the Fins was outstanding. Thereafter, NE figured out what to look for and adjusted. We did not counter.
Mac Jones is doing okay. We need to do more to throw him of his timing.
The game can go either way, I just hope we can mount a strong offensive attack. Gesicki? Where is he. Does he have a catch? If so, I blinked and missed it. Running game needs to complement the passing and play action. We need to see more deception. Have NE think one thing and we do another.
That was uglier then the entire cast of the view. But I'll take it. #1 in the AFC east for now. I don't like taking the QB out crap.I remember when the 2nd stringer played in the pre season and you never saw him again.
"Uglier than the entire cast of the View." Now that is funny.
But for that Harris fumble, the Dolphins were in trouble. I thought the domination of NE's offense by keeping the Dolphins D on the field so long was tiring them out. Granted our guys work out in 90 degree heat with high humidity, playing D for so long has to tire the guys out. The game could have easily slid to NE as they had offensive momentum.
The win was clearly ugly, but for a long time it was somewhat of a chess game. I suspect NE's offense schemes and Offensive coordinator is a couple of steps better than our guy. The Dolphins didn't do much to deceive NE's defense. While Flores is a product of NE's culture, many of the assistant coaches may not be all that much in tune with the approaches and deception NE does to opponents.
A win is a good thing. It's a good start, however, there's a lot more work that needs to be done to produce a cohesive offensive unit, IMO. Tua was okay, not terrific, IMO. Jones has a stronger arm and did a good job. I expect him to fall into the shoes of Brady and
Yeah. I was hoping for Mac to be worse. Hes not bad at all. Miami had some bad calls from the Ref and a ton of catchable balls dropped.
Hopefully we learned alot and Rewkon Davis comes back. Our run defense went to Shit as soon as he got injured. Howard dug deep and made a play when needed. He won the game IMO. Thats what playmakers do. Hes a playmaker.
And stop with the changing the QB crap. I dont like it at all. Dont tell me you dont want TUA getting hurt. Hes an NFL starting QB. if he cant take a QB sneak then he shouldn't be there.
TUA is aiggght. But hes got issues. The Oline isn't helping. Either is all the dropped passes. Offense needs serious practice and film this week. No Monday off if I was Flores. I'd give the defense off. The running game went sideways after Davis got hurt.. hoping he is OK.
Not super confident in this team at all. We need to play better everywhere.
Only person who gets an A is Howard. They didn't throw towards him once. He caused and recovered the game winning fumble.
Howard keeps this up he is going to earn a spot on the stadium ROH. He is that good.
I have to give Tua a mediocre "7" (with 10 being best) for his play yesterday. I will give Mac Jones a "8" for his rookie efforts and do believe he will improve quickly under NE's offensive scheme.
I was perplexed when Tua was pulled twice so the bigger back up QB, Brissett could muscle a yard or two with a QB sneak. I speak of deception and misdirection to act as a ruse to get the opposing D to hesitate or move in the wrong direction. By pulling Tua and inserting Brissett everyone in the stadium knew what the next play was and where it was going. To me that's not the best way to confuse the D.
Remember when Chicago used the Refrigerator to defeat the goal line stands of the opposing D. He was like bringing out "Big Bertha" and firing point blank into water melons. His enormous size and desire was overwhelming. Running him was making a statement. Pulling Tua was making a statement too. Maybe the wrong one. Is Tua too fragile to run a QB sneak? Is Tua not tough enough? Many things can be thought of. Some may be correct. To me, pulling Tua signaled weakness. Opponents will seize upon that real or perceived notion in future games. I hope the Dolphins figure out another play, a ruse of some kind, perhaps with Brissett and Tua on the field at the same time, to provide some modicum of "what's going on" in the minds of opposing D.
