Nah. You said he sucked. He left and went on to greatness like I said he would. That drives you nuts so you rationalize it anyway you can rather then just man up and say I was wrong.
Purdue sucks. And Bob Griese was never that great. He was an adequate game manager . The 72,73 TEAM WAS GREAT He didnt even play half of the perfect season. I think it's you that needs to move on. Tannehill is still relavant to this club. We need to make sure our next QB whoever it is , doesnt get bogged down behind a bad oline, no running game , and some good defense.....not to mention a revolving door of Offensive players and coaches

YES. I used to rate Herbert as my #3 in the draft.......but watching him closely He seems to have a cannon arm , but not always accurate and he makes bad decisions when under pressure.Big and strong ....not very smart.
Love has more upside......I definitely "Like" him......but it could turn out to be "love" at some point....decent value at #18.
Tua was at Alabama 3 years. He had an injury every year there. 2 ankles surgeries, a knee issue, nasal fracture and his hip. If that is not a red flag on a qb I dont know what is. Tua is the latest version of Bradford out of Oklahoma. He played great for a few games then hurt again. That went on through his entire career. We dont need that.
Trade up for Burrows or draft Herbert at 5 or draft Thomas LT at 5.
Very interesting , checked out Hurts tape and stats , very similar, even better than, Russell Wilsons at Wisconsin. Another that dropped like 6th QB taken Phins took Tannehill after like 18 college games at QB. ☹
I would consider him at 18 over Herbert, Love and maybe an injured Tua. Could drop with carolina or vegas and get a QB OL RB and another first for OL or top Safety. Hurts like Brady Marino, Lamar and Russell has a chip on his shoulder that always lights a fire

I mean this in the most non confrontational way......You do know that Simmons is an outside Linebacker correct? Just asking because I'm curious to see if you changed your stance on #5 having to be a QB?
If we dont take a QB at 5 then we should take LT A. Thomas at 18 take S X. McKinney and at 26 I. Wilson. O-Line would be set for years to come and the back end of the D is set also for years to come.
Wills, Jones , Jackson, or Bechton Top OL 1
Hurts Biggest dynamic QBThreat
Cesar Ruiz Top OL 2
Jeremy Chinn 4.4 Kam Chancellor Ronnie Lott like Hammer safety
Swift Taylor or Dobbins Top 3 RB
Logan Stenberg Top OL 3 Major OL rebuild
KJ Hamler Tyler Johnson Gandy Golden WR big play threat
Akers Dillon Moss, Benjamin , Kelly Top 10 RB Rebuilt backfield and offense
Luc Barqoo big athletic CB
Darrion Daniels Nick Coe Broderick Washington DL depth
Jordon Mack late LB value

Have you been keeping up with the free agent additions? 3 new linebackers including Van Noy not 2 mention 2 DE , a DT, safety.....If Simmons is available at #5 I will bet the house we trade it to someone who needs a Linebacker. Our first round #5 will be an offensive player if we keep it.
yeah dont need Simmons at five would go OL or trade down. Carolina needs an LB could they be forced to trade to 5 to get him before raiders try to trade up to replace Mack?

Now that's a solid draft strategy! And very probable if we dont make a deal on Burrows and Tua's gone by #5.
GO DOLPHINS!!!!

This team still has holes everywhere. We're in the first offseason of a complete rebuild.
If there's a flurry of trades to get QBs and simmons is there at 5 you don't pass him over because of a need at another postion. We did that with Luke Keuchly. You especially don't do it to pick Justin Herbert.
The giants could have taken josh allen at 6 and daniel jones at 17. They reached for jones. I don't want to see us make the same mistake.
I would take Simmons over injury prone Tua and Rosen like Herbert. With Simmon/Howard/Baker/Jones/Rowe and McCain we would have one of the best coverage back 7 in the league. Simmons is arguably an upgrade over Van Noy and Lawson. Lawson can move to the DL, Van Not to SLB and Simmons settles in at WLB.
I want my cake and eat it to so I would trade #18 and 26 to climb back into the top and grab Becton.
Finish off w/
2 Cushenberry C LSU
2 Hurts QB OK Trade up PIT #39 #153 #154
3 Phillips OL MS ST
4 Gibson ATH MEM Trade up #141 #185
5 Weaver ILB CAL
7 Roy DL BAYL
7 Hasty RB BAYL
7 Lewerke QB MI ST
We walk away with the #1 LB #1 T #1 center in the draft.
Hurts sits and learns from Fritz and pushes Rosen to raise his game.
Phillips is strong and nasty like Becton and Cush. Gibson is multi talented on O. Weaver at times reminded me of John Offerdahl. Like Becton he is just an old school kind of player.

I agree .
Only QB that has come close to that kind of field vision, quick release and accuracy is Patrick Mahomes. Next yrs projected #1 Trevor Lawrence is one of the most highly rated quarterback recruits ever, with multiple recruiting experts calling him a "once in a generation" type of player. If You want" Marino" that would be a good place to start.
This yr Burrows and Tua are the only polished enough players to start and TUA is a leap of faith. Grabbing "any QB" will just get you Rosen 2020.
I think we all agree . Hopefully DM13 can help identify talent that Elway hasnt been able to
but nobody knows which QB will be legit or busts
This draft looks a lot like 2012 and Hurts stats and game a whole lot like Russell Wilson at Wisconsin and has that chip on his shoulder . Remember Lamar?
I would drop pick up a pick or 2 and take Hurts or Love and 3 OL, Top RB Safety
Chinn a Ronnie Lott Chancellor like safety. Atwaters nephew sleeper.
