The Miami Dolphins — their “Mountaineer Shot” trick play brought home some hardware for the NFL’s ‘Play of the Year’. This marks the second consecutive season that the Dolphins have delivered the NFL’s play of the year — last season the Dolphins won the same award for their work to conduct the “Miami Miracle” against the New England Patriots.
We’ll have to stay tuned to see what the Dolphins are able to cook up in 2020 in their bid to three-peat with the NFL’s play of the year ........
The Miami Dolphins field goal unit rushed on the field with 4:40 remaining in the second quarter and Miami trailing 13-7. The Dolphins were facing a 4th-and-Goal from the Philadelphia Eagles’ one-yard line, after failing to score on seven previous “and-Goal” plays. The field goal was disappointing, but at least Miami would get points with a Jason Sanders kick.
Except, the Dolphins had called “Mountaineer Shot” instead of a field goal. Suddenly, the team split apart, leaving center Daniel Kilgore alone in the middle of the field and punter Matt Haack deep in shotgun. Half the team went to the left and half went to the right. Then, seemingly in a panic when that option was not available, Haack turns and runs to his left, looking for some blocking.
Then, the magic happens. Suddenly Sanders is by himself in the endzone and, just as he is getting tackled, Haack throws a pass toward Sanders.
Sanders dropped to a knee and caught the pass, scoring the first kicker-caught touchdown pass since 1977.

That was great.....but Nothing beats the Miami miracle against the Pat's for all time IMO.
I just find it funny you keep bring up Tanny. Not me. I just defend him because I'd like the next great player we draft to actually stay on the team.
You know he was great. Comeback player of the yr. What kind of POS doesnt respect that? The miracle was a great play becuase New Englanders everywhere choked on thier vomit. and ANY Dolphins fan who cant get excited about a play like that is not a fan.

Why do you even watch at all then? That's the difference between you and me. I love the Dolphins. No practice, no spring training, No season game is meaningless. Around my house each game is an experience. And a game like the Miami Miracle was an unforgettable day.
I almost feel sorry for you that you dont enjoy the experience . The game. The Miami Dolphins period.
That's why you want that big splash on draft day. You cant see what's better for the team. You just want a big name for a brief winning rush.
Good luck with that. I'll take game day thank you.
SamSam watches because he's a fan of the team. He's a true fan. A true fan wants his team to succeed. A true fan wants his team to do everything it can TO SUCCEED.
A true fan is disappointed when his team makes no effort to upgrade and when that team ITSELF SEEMS satisfied with failure.
Just buying and wearing jerseys and colors is doing no more than just a "raise of the hand" when someone asks you who your favorite team is.
Getting mad at the team when it screws up and when there are problems with the team, complaining about why steps are NOT being taken to solve those problems is, on the other hand, the mark of a TRUE fan.
MODS: This is why hes a huge problem on this board. Lives in California. Doesnt even watch games. Yet claims to have knowledge of what others are thinking.
I happen to pay a monthly fee YEAR ROUND, INCLUDING the off season to subscribe to a network only because it has a Sunday Ticket during the football season that allows me to tune to every NFL game. The only blackout restriction is for games played in Southern California.
The Rams left and went to St. Louis.
The Raiders went back to Oakland and the Chargers went back to San Diego but they are coming back to the Los Angeles Area in Carson.
So with my "NFL Sunday Ticket" I get to see all of the Dolphin games.
But you're making a lot of friends on this board by implying that anyone who does not live in the Miami Dade area CANNOT BE A TRUE DOLFAN.
Who is stupid enough to believe that? Certainly not SamSam.
You've insulted him personally. You've insulted his background.
You leveled an insult about him not being an American so terrible that when I pointed it out, you went back and edited it out and then lied and said that you never had.
You are a POS.
And sooner or later, your character, given your job, if you still have it, you are going to make a mistake that lands you in the headlines.
Man. You know alot about a guy you never met. How many times does he take a shit in a day? What's his underwear size?
First you wished Tanny to fail just to try and prove a point. Now you want me to fail on the Job. Take a step back.look at what you typed. Not the first time you have said that and that's why our relationship changed. Sam has NEVER wished evil thoughts like you pocess.
Karma is a bitch. I'm seriously going to try to ignore you. Let's see how sick you really are . Can you actually do the same? Is it in your ability to not answer for Sam?
There you go again (a line from a famous Californian)...thinking in large categories (which proves my point) "all fill in the blank are alike".
A law enforcement officer has to be a person who distinguishes. I did it on my job from 1974 until 2012. When a law enforcement officer fails to do that, he ends up making mistakes which will cost him his job.
Or you still on the job, Treasure? I really don't know whether you are.
The statement "you wished Tanny to fail" is either an intentional lie or an idiot's INABILITY to understand my argument that he was never trained to play in nor could be successful in a traditional pro offense set.
Tanny then goes to Tennessee which puts him in a read option like he played in Big Springs High School when in High school,
like he played at Texas A & M, when he was in college, and he succeeds.
Who is a better friend to Tannehill, me or you? Me who argued for him to be put in the position where he ultimately succeeded or you who kept wanting him to continue in a scheme in which he was a failure and got him traded????? All because you were too stupid to understand the football point I was making.
Finally, that famous Californian who I quoted above???? His name was Ronald Reagan and you just called him a nutjob. Why did you do that? Let's hear your excuse.
Oh, I know. Because you didn't mean to talk about ALL Californians...just those you don't like.
So don't come back with "well I didn't say Everybody" because you did.
And don't forget to answer. Are you still on the job?
There continues to be trolling and lots of friction between SamSam, TC, and ChyrenB, that is thwarting others, IMO, from wanting to post on this thread and other threads. It seems every topic degenerates because comments between you three (3) devolve into name calling and nastiness. It may be time for the three of you to take a break from posting on the forum. JC, and Curt (who is now a Floridian) are well aware of the trolling and friction that you guys bring. None of us are happy about it.
