You don't start building a BIG powerful team with a midget...

Get the BIGS first.

"Now just for instance, if Tua is the absolute best QB on the board AND we are picking at #1 AND we have Murray on our roster AND he played like Mahomes or Marino"

Thanks for clarifying. In the above scenario, I don't think we can have a QB play like Mahomes or Marino and have the #1 pick. But the overall clarification was helpful.

But we can draft a really good qb in 2019 and still have the #1 pick in 2020.

DAL went 1-15 Aikman's rookie year 1989. Cowboys Would have had the #1 pick in 1990 but drafted Walsh in the 1989 supplemental draft. Again investing heavily into the qb position. Also Aikman stunk his rookie year but Jimmy Johnson stuck with him. Aikman kind of really stunk overall but had weapons all around him.

If we were in that position in the 2020 draft we trade the pick for a boatload of picks.

2020 draft there will be a qb in the second round. Check out the Love kid from UT St. Kind of under the radar now but I like him. Shea Patterson should be there and waiting to see how Jalen Hurts looks at OK. He should be there too.

"DAL went 1-15 Aikman's rookie year 1989."

Touche' I'd definitely be ok with that scenario. Aikman didn't play in his first year like Marino or Mahomes in their first year, but it is possible to draft a great QB and end up w/#1 pick in that scenario.

I wouldn't mind if they grab him in round 2. I think he'd fall if not picked in the top 10.

Media say this collegiate QB is 5'10 1/8" tall and Weighs 207. Hmmm...some team will likely select him prior to the Dolphins pick.

In the meantime, I read a few articles that Miami is attempting to trade Tannehill but no takers. My prediction is that he'll be released and will end up as a backup somewhere else for a whole lot less money than he's due if he stays in Miami or gets traded. I am not surprised as his last 2 years have taken away his durability value, and I'm not going to bash an entirely new regime for wanting to start fresh with a new QB of their own choosing.

I think he could have had more success if he had better coaching and in addition to that I think his team around him has stunk too his entire time here. I really don't think he had a good foundation to succeed from the start here in Miami. I wish him luck to wherever he's headed from here.

Teams are going to wait for Tanne to hit the open market then someone will sign him. I think Parker is the guy they should be able to get a draft pick for. CLE, CIN Pit PHI should all be looking for a WR. Thengals have 4 6th rnd picks we should be able to get one of those from them. If not their 5th

Many of you will be able to crystal ball what I am going to post next. Tannehill was never used in the proper manner by Miami. My fellow Texoman was never a pocket QB. Not at Big Springs High near Lubbock, not at Texas A & M.

Our management just felt that if he was in the NFL draft, he was a quarterback who knew how to play in a traditional NFL set. It's kinda like that GEICO commercial saying "If it's in the yard on the day of a yard sale then it's for sale."

I hope he goes to Carolina, backs up Cam and if Cam gets injured, he tears up the league and all the pundits will ask, "Wow! Why didn't he play like that in Miami?"

And the answer will be, "because the Miami management is filled with idiots."

I don't agree with this assessment. Joe Philbin was just out of his depth, but Gase was an arrogant, egotistical, immature, brilliant offensive-minded kid who is going to be an excellent coach in this league someday but today isn't that day. We already know it, but it appears that the N.Y. Jests don't. They should, and they certainly will soon.

I think Peyton Manning was the brilliant offensive mind at Denver. Seemed like he called an audible on almost every play. This Miami team was so poorly prepared for opponents so often and many of the plays called made me say WTF??? Like...Lets run the ball on 3rd & 8 confused smiley
