RT but with the state of our O-Line right now I don't feel really confident that either one of them can consistently get the job done. Right now we need to be doing a lot more one read RPO's and planned QB rollouts. We gotta have him moving on every play.

Our offensive line is probably worse right now than it's been in years and that's saying a whole lot. James is barely average. Tunsil is a good tackle and may someday be great. Swanson has been a pleasant surprise. Not spectacular but not terrible. Davis stinks. Larsen stinks to high heaven. Larsen may possibly be the worst starting guard in all of the NFL. That dubious distinction would belong to Davis but for Larsen being even worse. How you could go a whole offseason and end up with Davis as your starter, Larsen as your primary backup at guard, and Sterup and/or Young as your primary backups at tackle is a mystery to me. It's almost as if they were trying to put together the worst line in football.
We had recivers open deep a few times and Ossi overthrew them by by at least a yard. Tanny was a threat to run, and even though not the most accurate, never overthrew them by as much consistently. Ossi is a decent back up, Hes no starter.

RESPONSE: I'd rather have an overthrow than a sack....a deer in the in the headlights sack.

RESPONSE: Just shows how inadequate Tanny is in the pocket. The only occasions Tanny is better is WHEN he is NOT being sacked which is almost always.

OK. Sounds like you already had your answer way before you made this thread. Everything you have said you have said it before dozens of times. Tanny isn't even playing and your still crying and making the same exact comments over and over again...…..cant play in the pocket....blah blah ….pocket ….blah blah Does it make you feel better? Is it a OCD condition? Like knocking on wood 5 times before leaving a room?

Fair enough.. ..BUT its never in a thread designed to get 1 answer and its usually a response, not a statement.
Except for : F the new logo!!ill repeat that until its changed.
You do know that Tannehill hasnt played in 6 weeks? Why are You still even talking about him? And I have Tannehill issues? Your like the little 3rd grade girl who keeps pulling Tannehills hair because your obsessed.
RT is a better QB than Os no matter what the situation or formation is IMO. Not saying that RT is a great QB, just a notch above Os.
That said I predict that in the not so distant future RT could become a backup QB somewhere because he's going to be more expensive than he's worth as a starter especially if he stays in Miami after this season. Huge cap hit, only 400K less than Brady with the Pats in 2019 (26.6 mil vs 27 mil). It would be better to suck up the dead cap (13.4 mil) and have a 2019 1st round pick QB who's young and healthier and still have some cap room for some/a highly needed additional free agent player/players. Not saying another 1st round QB will automatically be better than RT, that's a hit or miss because you don't know what you get until you get it with a rookie in the NFL.
Of course there's also variables like draft position etc. to consider, like having to sell the house & barn in the future in order to get a cream of the crop QB in 2019, so if Miami finishes strong that's what would have to happen. Look what the Skins had to give up to get RGIII & the outcome of that - He's a backup somewhere else now.
Keeping RT in 2019 is still an option but letting him fully heal is crucial for that to make sense. If he stays with the Dolphins I'd like to see him 100% healthy - The injury he has right now is no joke. A QB who doesn't have the strength to throw the ball without being in pain is completely useless. At this point this team is so jacked up with injuries that I personally feel he should be on IR. This team isn't going anywhere near the playoffs with or without RT later on this year, & even if they're a wildcard they won't go far because there's too many other issues besides QB for this team.
I believe Tannehill will take a pay cut to remain with Miami. He doesn't seem like the type of person who, after not playing the end of 2016, all of 2017, and now more games in 2018, would not renegotiate his contract. I'm sure RT understands that no other team will want him at the $26+M price tag he would come with. With his injuries, he would, more than likely, start as a backup with another team.
We all know what Oz gives us...not a hell of a lot. We only know Fales from the last game of 2017 (and he didn't play too badly). As others have been saying, give Fales a shot.
I saw where there could be a possibility of maybe five QBs who could go in the first round of the 2019 draft. If Miami feels there is one worth taking in the first, they should do what they have to do to get him. They have to get their future, or depending on RT's health, their present QB.

LOL I've gotta admit that is the first repetitive post of yours that came to mind.
Cap, we had no chance at any of the touted QBs of 2018 except Fales who we ended up with anyway. But there was the draft of 67 with Greise and Spurrier and the one with Marino and Elway, the one with Brees, and the Luck Tanny draft and the one last year
That's about 5 in 50 years.
Do you REALLY think they come each year??? Maybe if we suck so bad as to have first choice, but there certainly WON'T be a bumper crop.

Do you really think we get a rookie QB....even the best one , and we are instantly playoff material? 9 injuries to starters. Oline failed after 3 weeks.Thats the issue. No QB can help us in that situation. In fact all you will accomplish is ruining them.mentality and Physically.
errrrrrr.....what I was saying was that there was UNLIKELY to be a bumper crop of QBS this April because bumper crop only come once every 10 years. If you STILL don't get it....there will only be about two, if not only one, franchise QB this April.
So unless we are number 1 or number 2 in the draft, your boy Tanny is safe.

TC, I believe you are coming back at Chryren for his answer to me.
I (probably) fed off anther poster in what was said which led to my answer.
This is the year, IMO, that Miami must draft a QB in the first round, if at all possible. I am not too sure about RT's health, as I pointed out in my (above) post. There is talk he may not be able to play the rest of this season. With his knee surgery and now his shoulder problem, he can no longer be counted on.
If he does come back healthy next season, I would think the FO will re-do his pay, and I believe RT will work with them. If Miami cuts him (because of either health or money), no other team will sign him for the numbers he is going to be paid. He will also, probably, be signed to another team as a back up. Drafting a rookie QB will have Miami ready to start afresh if RT is a no go, or, if RT goes down again.
RT's body is not helping him; he's getting up in age and all the pounding he's been taking behind a porous OL hasn't helped.
Will the rookie QB start right away? Let's hope not. Hopefully, RT can give Miami one more good season before the reigns are handed over. If RT stays healthy for a few more years, then Miami can go the Belichick route and trade him for a high pick.
It may not matter because RT now may be headed to IR...and the two top prospects in the draft are murmuring about staying in college for another year. Just may not be any blue chip guys to pick from.
If RT goes on IR he may have worn his last Phins jersey...that being the case where do we go for a QB?
