Great assessment I agree 100%. In the past We did not collect the type of players that collectively gave us a winning team. I too did not cry over losing any of those guys. This year I think we let go of the 'leaders' who were not leading (minus Suh). Next year its the guys who are not reaching the 100% level of their talent, Parker, Alonzo, James etc. I think the f/o has finally realized that we have to rebuild. I am ok w/ the 2017 & 2018 drafts. Yes we need that strong running game and it appears the oline is being developed on those lines. I like the drafting of Smythe just as much as Gesicki. A good blocking TE like him will help with the running game. Run, pick up first downs, control the clock, control the game. Pass when the opportunity is there and score dammit score.

We have a variety of weapons at WR and now Gesicki. Those guys will allow Tanne to strike downfield and I think he will. Parker will be part of the solution. I am looking forward to 2018.

Minimum 9-7 max 12-4. Phins should compete. If Gase and Burke have figured it out we should compete.

I am a bit concerned w/ Tunsil at tackle. Early reports have him false starting in practice. He did this too often in 2017. He did not have that issue when he played guard his rookie season. I wonder if he needs his hearing checked. Not being funny that could be an issue.

I agree. I think we need a strong running game to support Tanne. I don't think he will ever be the focal point of an offense. He'll be a game manager.

Spreading the ball requires a QB that can find the mismatches. Gase no longer has Manning to make him look good and I don't think Tanne has shown in 6 years the ability to elevate his game to the point where teams respect him or his ability to exploit mismatches when they load the box.

Our defense stinks and I think that falls squarely on Burke. He's in over his head.

Saying that Landry got most of the targets and that in those games where he did, we lost most of the time is only half the analysis. Why was Landry targeted so much? You can't blame Landry. He wasn't throwing the ball to himself. Really there are only a couple of answers. Was Gase calling the plays where Landry would be targeted the majority of the time. I doubt it but if so, that's his failure. Did Landry get open more than the other receivers? Did the QBs have more confidence in him to catch the ball when thrown to him? I think the latter two are most likely why Landry was so much the focal point of the passing game. So, instead of getting some additional receivers who would give Tannehill more reliable targets, they trade Landry and add Amendola and Wilson. In Amendola, you have a player that at best has a two or three more seasons to play, maybe. He won't be part of whatever they're building. Plus, he's got a fairly extensive injury history which includes multiple concussion protocols he's gone through. Will he stay healthy the entire season? Maybe, but his history makes the notion that he will somewhat dubious. Wilson is an unproven receiver who wasn't good enough to be anything more than a little used rotational guy in KC. Could he blossom into more? Maybe, but it's hard to believe that Andy Reid let him go if he thought he had the potential to be a major weapon in the passing game. Where a lot of you guys see a "plan" with these moves, I see cutting our best players because of poor cap management and then doing the PR talk of saying that it was to "change the culture." I just don't buy it. Take it for whatever it's worth, but SI predicts a 3 win season. Not saying that they're right but it does illustrate that I'm not alone in being skeptical of these off-season moves.

Game managers win championships. Look at Marino Vs. Elway.

Elway won 2 Championships at the end of his career on the back of Terrell Davis.

That said I think your cutting Tannehill way short. Again look at where he was right before he got hurt. 103% QB rating. The Drafting of back to back Tight ends is a clue as to wear Gase wants to upgrade........REDZONE.

And the defense does have issues at Corner. Linebacker. No doubt. A few injured players coming back. I make no predictions here but will note there are alot of new faces and hopefully they all contribute. Mikah has been touted the best defensive player in the draft....lets see if he can fit in.

GO MIAMI!!!

I think you're more than likely right that Tannehill will never be the focal point of an offense like a Manning or Brady. While I'd rather have one of those guys if possible, I think we can win with Tannehill playing his role in the offense. I think he's better than what I have in mind as the "typical" game manager, but I'm not mistaking him for Brady or Manning, either, of course. Whether we can win a lot long-term with Tannehill is the million dollar question, I suppose.

Sadly, I hadn't really thought about Burke being the primary problem for our defense. If so, he needs to be changed...but still feel like we've made good (though still nascent) strides in young talent acquisition.

Good points above. Tannehill>Landry set records in repetitions and yardage....Tanny was averaging 4000 yds but the bottomline and what most here hold against him is that he wasn't able to win games.

When GASE drafted back to back Tight ends that really made me think about what direction he wanted to go. RED ZONE. That where the Phins lacked. AND Defense keeping the 4th Qtr lead and not collapsing.

I loved Landry. My Boys loved him. He was so exciting to watch. I will miss him. But although he was hard to tackle and almost always got YAC....but at 5'11 he hardly ever sniffed the endzone.

GO MIAMI!!!

Hardly ever sniffed the endzone? Last year Landry had 9, TDs tied for 4th in the league. Antonio Brown only had 1 more with 10. Those replacing Landry last year? Wilson had 4 and Amendola had 2. If Gase has half a brain in his head, he has to be banking (hoping) that Gesicki is the second coming of Gronkowski and Kenyan Drake does his best Le'Veon Bell impersonation because he's not replacing Landry with what's left of the receiving corps. It will have to come with a combination of tight end and running back play. Maybe he pulls it off, but if not.... Gase is going to have a large amount of egg on his face.

I agree regarding the classlessness and immaturity of dissing the Miami QBs. Whether he really believes what he said or not, there was nothing to be gained by saying it. Incidentally, with the exception when he was playing us, Tyrod Taylor was an average to below average QB. I'd take a healthy Tannehill over him. To Landry I'd say, don't burn your bridges. The bridge you burn today may end up being the one you need to cross tomorrow.

9 TDs over a season ain't gonna do it. Its like Tannys 4000 yds. Especially when the defense is giving up more then we score. Its teamwork that wins games.....RBs that can move chains and Tight ends that can get the jump ball. And hopefully Wilson and Amendola can pick up Landrys slack. I would see time and time again 80 yd drives that ended with a FG.that needs to stop.

GO MIAMI!!!

What are players suppose to say about the current team they play for? Why would any player bash their current team. It was a blanket statements saying "the QB's in Miami were not as good". What if he said "Well the QB's here in Cleveland could learn a thing or two from Miami's QBs". How well would that go over with his team?

These players are not dumb. They will not bite the hand that feeds them. Remember their contracts are not guaranteed like the MLB and NBA.

Let's see how well his year turns out to be and how quick he will be to blame the play of his QB's for not having the "Stats". I love Landry and I am glad he is hyping his team. That is what he is suppose to do.

Chip on his shoulder? LOL

We traded him to a 100 times better team. He is happy as hell. He is going to win a few games this year.

But grimey everybody in the whole world knows the miami dolphins qbs are not very good.

I bet you if it was the packers or falcons that traded him he would not say that.

He is simply stating the truth

I see your point there Sam...But also the Packers or Falcons would not have traded him...haha...

The truth that they may not be quality guys yes but there is no truth that the Browns QB's are better than what we have...That is laughable as well. I would take a healthy Tanne over anyone on that roster right now and that includes Baker. Other than a healthy Tanne I would agree with him.

ONLY YOUR WORLD> Tanny had a 103% QB rating before he got hurt. You have absolutely no facts to back up your argument. None.

Better than all pro? So you think he would be a top reciever in the league? And we traded him just like that...

I love Landry but he can't compete with Julio or a healthy Jordy. Probably 10-15 number 1 receivers he can't compete with. Be an amazing addition to a team with a stud number 1 for sure.

But you dont see that because you think tannehill is all mighty mouse...

He does the best when he scrambles and that way he can hurt again....Hope not....but thats reality..

What was so bad about drafting a qb in the first round?

Instead we drafted a player whose position we are most deep at in the entire team just because gaze believes tannehill is also mighty mouse.

We have no backup plan....

You so blind about tannehill you have stated that both our back up qbs can get us out of trouble if needs be..

Reality is if we have to insert any of the two scrubs we have as backups, the game is over. No chance of winning at all.
