Gore to visit; Osweiler too?

Okay, Gore might be a decent signing IF he comes very cheap because I think him being around Drake could only help him become a better pro. Osweiler? Seriously? I'd rather have Cutler back, and I emphatically don't want Cutler back. If they sign Osweiler, it will be further evidence that these boobs don't have a clue as to what they're doing. Osweiler would add NOTHING to this roster other than draining the already scarce cap space.

I would want a rb that would be around 2/3 years but Gore might be the kind of guy that you take if he wants to come here. 34 years old but has always been productive and professional.

Osweiller! after we passed on some of the other guys. A minimum 1 yr contract only I hope. He is better than Moore (imo) but I would rather have brought in someone like Bridgewater over him.

I rather draft 2 qbs..

One in the first round and the other one in the 4th maybe?

Osweiler? Hello no!

I have a feeling this will be another wasted year.

This fools including coaches and front office dont have a clue of what road to take.

Its obvious this team needs to be rebuilt.

The 2 or 3 stars we had were let go, suh, landry and ayagi.

All we have left is crap.

1.This could be a 1 or 2 win season.

or

2.We win just enough games to pick about 15th or 20ish in every round and at the same time do not make the playoffs.

Thats the story of a phins fanatic for the last 20 years or so.

Good move to sign Gore. He's going to help out Drake in more than one way.

14,000 yards so far. How many more yards will Gore gain as a Dolphins RB? He can still run and catch and may be able to provide some senior mentorship to others on the team. He's a proven player. I wish him well and believe he's a good addition even if it's only for a year or two.

Gore is a one year proposition. Oswieller would only be a veteran backup...to hold a clipboard. In no way would he preclude us drafting a QB. That is unless the powers that be think no one past the big four guys is worth drafting.

With the signing of Osweiler, there is now no doubt that Miami is going after a QB in either round one or two.

I highly doubt Osweiller will do much for the Fins if, for whatever reason, he has to play. I would rather have Fales in there backing up RT.

I sure in hell hope Miami didn't pay Oz much, but the way the Fins do things, he probably got at least $5M. I believe he signed a one-year deal?

In signing Osweiler, I now am convinced that Tannenbaum is trying to piss off the fan base. There is absolutely nothing to be gained by this signing. If Tannehill can't play, having Osweiler accomplishes nothing. I'm sick of Tannenbaum, Grier, and Gase. Call me when all 3 are fired.

Oswieller won't play...this is a non issue guys.just a veteran body familiar with Case's system.

I still think we draft a guy, who and when is the question.

Signing Osweiler highlights the fact that these boneheads have no plan. Why would you sign a guy with a career passer rating of 70? This team is not remotely a playoff team. Everyone knows it. If Tannehill goes down, do they think that Osweiler is needed to save the team's nonplayoff aspirations? This team is laughable and the joke is on us, the fans.

I agree with Ken that Osweiller is a veteran body in camp only. He is not a long term solution by any means. I think they realize that the cost to get top 4 qb is too great this year. As such, they will draft later round QB who may or may not be ready to back up Tanneyhill straight out of the gate. If the drafted QB shows himself ready in camp then Osweiller will be gone.

The problem with your logic is that it presupposes that Osweiler is capable of backing up Tannehill. Houston actually gave away a 2017 sixth-round pick and 2018 second-round pick just to get rid of him (Houston got a 2017 4th rounder in the deal). Every rep that Osweiler gets in camp is a rep that another QB doesn't get so it's a wasted rep. I get the fact that likely, he won't see the field (though I've quit predicting what this team will or won't do) but it's yet another bad move in what has become a systemic problem with this team. When you constantly make bad moves, it sets your team farther and farther behind. It's just very depressing.

Dolphins merely testing the water with Osweiler. Probably just another warm body for the front office to say we did something this week--aren't we smart.

With perhaps any other front office, I might grant you that this could explain it. With Tannenbaum? It could be just as possible that they've done their mock drafts, figured out that none of the big 4 QBs will be available at 11, and decided to go with Osweiler to back up Tannehill. Boneheaded move? Absolutely. Tannenbaum a bonehead? Absolutely.

Here is whats going on in the minds of the keystone cops running our team:
-Osweiler is 6-7 years younger than Moore and familiar with our system.
-Tannehill will be back full strength and better than ever.
-Backup QB problem solved.

As usual it will end up in a pooch screw. Very likely IMO a 30yo Tanne will be injured again by mid season...

If you're right, and Osweiler ends up playing, we'll all miss Cutler because Osweiler will make Cutler seem like an all pro.
