Jones had 3 TDs Landry had 9 same as Brown. Landry is the teams Alpha receiver. He deserves what he is asking for. Dolphins trying to mince words slot vs outside.
They pulled out their checkbooks for Misi to be late for tackles and Alonzo and Pouncey, what is it with Landry?

you can't seriously be trying to equate the 2. Like you wouldn't trade Landry for Jones in a NY minute and the Falcons wouldn't laugh at you if you proposed the deal. I've never seen a starting WR average under 9 yards a catch, I mean that's hard to do. I am OK with resigning him but for what a top slot WR gets not a top outside WR which he simply is not

Since 2014 Landry's first year in the league Jones has 23 tds Landry has 22.
Wait include returns that makes it a tie at 24
Pay the guy. All of the other numbers are secondary to TDs.

You are right, the O stinks and we need to stop fooling ourselves.
Cut Tannehill (yep) save millions
cut James save millions
Cut Pouncey save millions
cut some of these guys who are just spinning their wheels and keeping in the same stinking spot. No .. but we want to cut a guy who should be one of our building cornerstones. Stack up the dump truck w/ cash and dump it in front of guys like Misi (sucks now and sucked before his injury), Alonso (cannot cover a TE) and Timmons.
Cutting Tannehill is idiotic. Do we need to draft a QB...Yes...Does it need to be our first pick or have us waste picks to move up in the draft...No...
Cutting Tannehill should not even be an option. Moore is as good as gone. Even if we draft a QB and Tannehill can't play right away, having his veteran leadership there will only help. He was an iron man for us for years while taking the worst beating I have ever seen a Miami QB take. He has had the surgery...let's see what he can do before we totally dismiss him.
My point is I think we have maxed out with the current personal on this squad. These guys are not going to get us to the big game. Some of the guys who we think are Alpha wolves are really sheep. Some guys are talented but exhibit 0 leadership skills. Some guys are talented but injury prone others are idiots and others have serious deficiencies in some necessary skill set.

Even if we draft a qb in the first round......he is not going to be ready to learn the playbook the first year, he will need at least a couple of pre seasons..
So if tannehill cannot play this year we are in bad shape again as we were in 2017.

RESPONSE: The real question is not whether he will leave but whether he will be able to play due to his injury.

RESPONSE: If Tannehill cannot be assured to start and perform for the next four years then we've "maxed out" on him as well.

RESPONSE: Are you talking about "These guys" on the O line or the D line? If so, I disagree with drafting to replace them.
If you are talking about wide receivers, running backs, or line and corner backs, then I'm willing to talk.
Some of the guys

You can talk until you're blue in the face about how the deck swabbers are insufficient but if the Captain of the ship can't steer us away from icebergs, we're all gonna die.
There is a brand new GREAT crop of present or future Captains....we need to spend our first pick on one of them.
1) Cut James or resign him to a friendlier number
2) Cut Pouncey, or sign him to a friendlier number
3) Keep Tannehill and draft another QB to groom
4) SIGN Landry!!! WhT is the difference between 11 mill and 15 mill? He is everything you dream about a player!
1) productive
2) energetic
3) leader
4) durable
5) a fan favorite
No real negatives
Can you imagine this kid playing against you?
The more I think about it, the more I realize that th Phins are not dumb enough to let him go!
14 million a year?? are you kidding me?? There is not one player on this team worth 14 mill. suh or tanny included. 6 wins a year, zero playoff wins stick all the overpaid shitheads on the same cut list. This is a seriously overpaid crap team. Dont get me wrong I lllllllllllllllove my phins but this team is not worth what is being paid to produce. Start over get some cheaper players that will play, stop trying to have a hundred damn coaches, get 3 that have the balls to coach and put a damn team together that plays. I will never live long enough to see us in the SB ugggggggghhh.

I don't have a problem with 10 yards a catch. That's pretty much a first down every time.
But then again, I also don't put too much weight on statistics.
What I see in Landry is a guy who puts forth maximum effort on the field for every game. Later in the season when it's obvious we aren't going to the playoffs, he still gives his all. Right now he's the only Dolphin I enjoy watching. If he leaves, the team will be even more boring to watch and even less successful.
Well for those who didn't want a 9.8 yard per catch star receiver, you got your wish!
We got rid of a "special" player for NOTHING ! Probably the only player I would even keep on this team!
Tannenbaum, listen very closely to a devoted season ticket holder!
jesus the level of whining over a slot receiver who averaged less than 9 yards a catch is astounding. Is he a good player? Yes. Is he worth $15mm per year? No, and in the NFL that's the analysis. Getting anything even a 4th rounder is better than just letting him leave and get overpaid elsewhere for no compensation. And no we would not have gotten better than the very high 4th rounder we received THIS year as a compensatory pick NEXT year.
I think the FO is a horrible as everyone else on here, but I have no big issue with no paying Landry like he was Julio Jones and Antonio Brown. Again our offense was dreadful with Landry, it can't really be any worse without him. Everyone needs to chill.

What is astounding to me is conducting an entire evaluation of a player based on his statistics.
Do numbers count? sure. But...
What about taking what would be a 3 yard completion and fighting like hell for those 9.8 yards. No statistic for that, is there.
What about the pure energy and devotion that no doubt rubs off on his teammates and the fans? Yes, I'm saying how he affects the fans is important. It makes them (us) want to watch the team, even when we're pretty sure they are going to lose most of the time. I can't name any player other player on the squad that I enjoyed watching this past season. Not one. With Tannehill coming back, yeah I'll root for him as I always did. But he just lost a big playmaker to throw it to.
