The Panthers of NC take on the Dolphins tonight on MNF. I didn't watch a lick of NFL football yesterday but did watch the thrashing that the Hurricanes gave to the Irish of Notre Dame on Saturday night. The U is back; the Irish falter once again when it counts. They choked big time and it's painful for me as I'm a long-time ND fan. The Irish had the look of "deer in the headlights"...a vision I've seen with our Dolphins players at times as well.
Anyway, tonight is another prime time event showcasing the Dolphins, its 3rd prime time opportunity for them in a row. Thus far, they've failed twice and hopefully tonight with a win, we can celebrate a little. Game time is 8:15 EST.
Thought Cutler should have run myself but the throw was just as easy and when you can either run or throw, throw. Just nerves I guess. I hope that Carolina does four and out in their first series and that will calm Cutler down.
Well at least with the shitty way the defense is playing, it tends to detract from the shitty way the offense is playing. Or is it the other way around? No matter.
Nightmare I had a second before that we would throw an interception came true.
Why throw a short 10 yard pass. Why not throw a bomb to get in field goal position. We throw a short pass.....interception and now they have a GUARANTEED FG and a likely TD.
Yep, a likely TD. Now it's 17-7 at the half. Is the game over?
Only 119 yards total offense by the Dolphins at the half.
With that Jay Cutler intercept by Kuechly, it show's Jay Cutler's propensity to do foolish things with the ball and shows why Kuechly is a future hall of fame, in my opinion. I wish we had him. He's been tops since day 1. Why can't we find a guy like him? (That's a rhetorical question, I know the answer).
Our ability to rush the QB continues to be inadequate. Quick passes eliminates pass rush effectiveness. Secondary plays too loose and can't cover. All teams see this and do it to the Dolphins.
Wow this team sucks. No heart bad coaching. Ok drake thanks sucked me back in as i was typing this to make me watch more. Team going through the motions though and for what it's worth Timmons awol makes more sense as the season unfolds
Aside from players that fall short each week, the coaching on this team has to be an element in such a weak performance week-after-week. So, I'll say what I've been thinking....Our assistant coaching staff is equivalent to jr varsity. They are simply inadequate to improve play.
Hiring Gase was a stretch and he I'm pretty sure now, that he wasn't able to attract qualified assistant coaches. Again, this is a top-down systemic problem. Jay Cutler was merely a patch at QB, there are so many areas that need attention and none are going to be fixed any time soon. Pathetic, just pathetic.
This has to be the worst display of coaching I have ever seen both offensively and defensively!
This team really has no chance to even be competitive! This is entirely on the coaching staff!
The play calling is atrocious! Can Gase finally call himself Out? Can he fire himself?

Ross should've hired Marrone. He had head coaching experience and would have attracted better assistant coaches. Gase's entire resume was artificially made to look good by Peyton Manning who was the de facto offensive coordinator in Denver. We need to face it, we're stuck with Gase and Tannenbaum until the team posts multiple single digit win seasons. Thanks Ross. You screwed the fans royally.

I doubt he'll take ownership of this debacle. He can't throw Ajayi under the bus anymore. It'll be interesting who ends up being his new fall guy. There are so many really bad players for him to choose from.
As the mad dog would say, "the stench of cow manure hung heavily over this game." I wonder to myself, are they tanking this season intentionally, or are they really this bad?

I know you're a hockey guy Seas, but don't forget the Celtics are doing well, with all our injuries....for now!

a classic. I miss Mandich so much. only thing good about a loss when he was around, was his spot-on rants about it. RIP Jim
Gase lost the team when he took a hard line stance trading ajayi and in the same week bent one of his few rules letting the nuts kneel for the anthem.
They sure looked better prepared last night!
The panthers beat us with a high school read option offense last night. No more blaming execution. Maybe it's your stupid wide 9 defense, Burke. The same one Joseph employs in Denver now relegating that once dominant D into a sieve.
Coaching matters.
Blow it up from top to bottom. Scouts, the whole 9 yards.
No more wasting my time watching 2nd and 10 runs up the middle, giving up 3rd and longs watching kiko or mccain trailing a WR. Time to start DVRing the games and being more productive on Sundays.
I realize I am not a football expert but I was quite relieved when Denver took Joseph off of our hands. I felt his play calling sucked.
I was highly paranoid about this season when the Dolphin brass excitedly announced the promotion of Burk to DC instead of hiring someone experienced and knowledgeable.
So far I feel that paranoia was justified.
I didn't watch the game, but I did see a reply this morning of Drakes touchdown run.that guy is unbelievably fast.with better blocking, HE can easily be our new starter.

The only saving grace is that, like us, the Panthers are usually their own worst enemy. Somehow after going to a super bowl, they have traded away most of their talent other than Newton and Kuechly. Their back to having to run the read option even against the likes of us, just a matter of time before Newton is injured.
