english fin, there isn't much around the stadium.

What might be fun though, is to stay at the hard rock casino and hotel. Because there's a lot to do there, and then you'll just drive north to the game. Or, staying on the beach is another option. I'll have to think about it. Maybe there's some cheaper hotels around the area, or near a sports bar.

How long are you staying? When I go down I usually stay at the Yankee Clipper in Ft. Lauderdale. It is right on the beach, fairly nice and I have found the rates were very reasonable.

In my one Phins game outside of Foxborough, I stayed in Naples, rented a car and drove 2 hours to the game. It was perfect, except the year was 2007; and as you can imagine, the Phins got killed.

Yeah, Yankee Clipper is what usually comes to mind when tourists want to stay on the beach. But folks have been coming there since the 70's so just make sure you get a renovated room. I like the Yankee Clipper's location, and you've got the cool Bahia Cabana bar right there..which is a great, laid-back outdoor type place with picnic-style tables, covered in shade, on the water. As I recall they used to make the best margaritas. There's a hotel attached to the Bahia Cabana too, so that's worth looking into.

As far as Naples, it's pretty unusual to stay there and drive 2 hours to the game. But it was obviously doable for you. In fact, Naples is one of the few places that I can get to in 2 hours (less if you drive fast) from the east side. It's fun to do that sometimes. But if you want to go someplace after the game, have a few drinks, etc, you can't drive the alley to go back to a hotel.

The elpalacio I've heard of, but never seen. Maybe I'll swing by and check it out.

englishfin, I just found out the yankee clipper is closing until january for renovations, so that's not an option. I took the liberty of checking out a hotel up the street from the Clipper, on the 17th street causewa - Hyatt Place. It's 109 per night on Sundays in September. But by the end of Oct it's season and the rates increase. It's a good area of town though, close to the beach and with all kinds of restaurants around. There's also a Holiday Inn Express on the same street.

As far as out west, near the stadium, I'll see if I can check out the options. I figured out what the el palacio hotel was...it's that dive of a hotel next to calder race track. It's a dump, I wouldn't recommend it.

You know despite the fact that there has been a little animosity on this site at times, I think it would be fun for some of us to attend a game together at some point.

REPPA lives in JERSEY i thought......

where to stay in MIAMI? I would say the HARDROCK HOTEL and CASINO- if you're a high roller you wont mind the $275/night. And the kids will love the pool with the waterfall.

Like I said I would recommend them but my F*&*^ing ARMADA got broken into while VALETed last time. You believe that shiit?
